My package arrived this week!
For some reason i ordered two Techno Bee's. Cannot remember why, but i am sure i had a reason. I guess i leave one as is, and wrap the handle of the second one in Paracord. Might also refinish the wooden handle. Will have to see what oils i have in stock. All knives came razor sharp!
Congratulations :) I have done the exact same thing with BPS knives! :D Be interested to see how the Techno Bee looks wrapped

Worked pretty well i think. Now i just need to make another sheath. The one it came in no longer works because the handle is too thick now. But it is way more comfortable to use with the wrapped handle.
Really nice job 😎 I did wonder about the sheath 👍

This is the BPS savage.

I took the scales off, rounded the edges and sanded it all down. Put on a few coats of linseed oil. This is "bog oak" which in my understanding is an oak tree that has been underwater and fossilized. The wood is very hard and it does not take the oil near as well as regular oak/maple etc I think it's an improvement, though.

I also rounded the sharp edges of the tang around the scales and gave the blade a paper towel wrap in cider vinegar for an hour or so. I've found this helps keep surface rust from the camp knives along with mineral oil.

It's a good knife. I look forward to beating it up. Super sharp, comfortable to use, great sheath.

Im half tempted to cut off that lanyard hole.... Hmm.... Haha

I have been asked by local living Ukranians to help at a peace rally tomorrow, its my absolute pleasure to do so.
Great stuff :) I live just round the corner from the National Ukrainian Centre, but their event is on Sunday. Tomorrow, there's the national minute of silence at 11.00am, with Ukrainian flags flying, and civic buildings lit up in blue and yellow, and a rally in the early evening

Apparently some colour has been added to the road in front of the Russian Embassy in London

Take care today Johnny, they're lucky to have you around. I'm certain you'll make several friends and I'm looking forward to your photos of the rally.
Thank you.

Ukrainian peace meeting in Radcliffe square.
It did get emotional at times.
The thank you I got for turning up to help and the smile from this little girl was priceless.

The father with the photo of his 27 year old son who died (a Ukrainian major) with the international brigade was heartbreaking.
A lady translated as I paid my condolences.
