Nevrmind I see it's been "sold" of knifeart. I wonder how it ended up back in Duncan's hands? Or maybe they don't actually have the knife they're seeling on ebay?

Heh, -1 for feedback for the wife on ebay. :)

For the record, I should post that I have purchased before from knifeart.com and I was happy with the purchase, communications from them and the product as it arrived (a few William Henry knives). According to them (knifeart.com), the pictures they show on the internet are pictures THEY took (or had taken) of knives in their stock.

So the ebay auction knife picture was a recycled picture taken prior to knifeart.com receiving the particular knife.

Doesn't change the circumstances nor the outcome of the particular auction (sadly)....

I wouldn't pi$$ in his a$$hole if his guts were on fire.......he's a fukin' loser! :thumbdn:

Sorry to hear of your troubles but the search function can be your best friend.......;)

Deleted by me. My mother taught me if you can't say anything nice to keep my mouth shut.

I hope this gets resolved.

The knife was on knifeart was available two to three days ago (from what I remember). She had stated to me that quote, "the knife was supposed to have a reserved on it for $700.00 however I am trying to figure out what went wrong my husband will be here soon I still have the knive". What a joke.... I wonder if Knifeart.com would tell us when that particular knife actually sold. I don't know if knifeart.com is in it with Duncan or it is just a funny coincidence . I just know that the practices of Duncan is unethical and just plain rude.

I remember a fellow member wrote 'custom knives got soul'.

And I agree, which is why I wont be trying out his knives as I dont want a crook's work.

He shouldnt be selling off so many to the dealers when the knives should have gone to the people that paid.

A wife selling her husbands knives = a DEALER
A wife selling her husband Brad Duncan's knives= Co-Conspirator.

Brad Duncan's dishonesty is legendary

Anyone know what this knife was priced at on KnifeArt? Brad would have had to give a pretty decent discount, so if it sold for $720.00 I would think that KnifeArt got it for about the same price that was bid on it in the auction.

The knife on knifeart.com was $900 just like some of the others listed on the same page. And yes it would have been a discount to me at $720, but that's not the point.

I had read on another threat that you buy the knife not the knife maker, (I seem to disagree).

I truly think it just sucks for XJ-linux and I am glad he made people aware of his situation.

Take care.....

There are 2 others with what looks to be the same type of damascus (Dot Matrix)... One with silver G-10, the other with brown micarta. Both are listed for $900. I'd guess that one to be the same price.

Sorry to hear about this, XJ-linux... That suxx. Looks like I'll be continuing to avoid Duncan knives.

I called Knifeart.com about the knife in question. I pointed out the eBay auction and pointed out that the picture of their sold knife and the eBay knife were the same. I was told that they had no information about the eBay auction but the picture they used on their site was *their* picture (taken after they took possession of the knife to sell it). Since their reputation is upstanding and clear here, I believe them. They offered that the eBay seller might have been using an old picture of the knife they had and sold.

If true, then the eBay auction picture was at the very least a misrepresentation and at the worst, a fraud. Unfortunately, none of this helps XJ though it might convince others to spend their money with reputable knifemakers (and dealers).

I too had less than satisfactory dealing with Brad some years ago. I ordered one of the "sharpfusion" knives because I wanted to try the material. I paid about 50% in advance just to cover the material expense. While I was in TX I took time to visit Brad at home (or his garage shop). To my surprise hed made me totally different knife (it seemed to me he never started on my knife and gave me just one he had in stock) . I took it after all but was not really happy. I thought it over and decided to return the knife the following day and ask Brad to make the knife according to my drawings. After few months I got the knife. It looked OK but the liner lock was something I could not live with. It barely held the blade in open position so I asked Bud Weston to fix it. He somehow was able to improve the lock but I sold the knife after that. I would never buy another knife and would never pay in advance for it either...

Did some digging around with the command prompt last night and came up with some new info. Perhaps someone else who needs to contact him can use the info and get some better results than I did. If you want to have some fun, try the command: whois duncanknives.com or any other URL. Perfectly legal networking command/tool used to search registered internet domain owner contact information. Aboutus.org has even more free publicly available info (fax number, google map to his home address, etc) if you so choose to follow up. Cheers.

Lets just be real clear here for people who are newbs or just getting into custom knives.

KnifeArt.com which has been mentioned in this thread is a reputable dealer and I would endorse them fully. It is unfortunate that they have a knife ( or had ) that was double sold but the folks at KnifeArt are solid trustworthy business people and I would not hesitate to do business with them. I think that should be stated as this thread progresses...

KnifeArt have done nothing wrong at all. They wouldn't have had any idea that the knife was also put up for auction on ebay.

Yeah, I bet the knife was already at knifeart and the Duncan`s tried to sell it on the side to save some money (No dealer involved) and then order it back from knifeart. I think it`s a shame what happend to XJ-linux and MRHAG. By the way: You don`t have to be a newb in collecting custom knives just because you don`t have many posts. Some people just start talking when they really have something to say. Nothing personal - just for the record.

The problem with buying a knife from a maker like this, even through a reputable dealer, is that it keeps him in the money. It takes the pressure off him that might force him to provide for his direct customers, or more importantly, to resurrect his reputation.
