Brass is back on the menu... GEC #44

I hope GEC will match up brass hardware with more of their future releases in Cocobolo. And bloodwood as well.

I know it is too early to think about GEC's next run of the #44 Gunstock pattern knife, but it has been extremely popular with almost everybody. I had an idea for when GEC does their next run of this pattern, whenever that may be. The knife is called "Gunstock" after all, so on the first style the bolsters would be high polished blued (preferably "Royal Blue") like a Colt Python. The handles would be highly figured American Walnut, Cocobolo, Birdseye Maple, and Sambar Stag. The wood handles would be checkered at 20 lpi like a Gunstock.

The second style would have polished nickel silver bolsters replicating nickel guns. The handles would be Gabon Ebony, Goncalo Alves, and Elk Stag. The wood handles would again be checkered like a Gunstock.

I would prefer a single blade knife. As for shields, the cartridge could be used again in blued or nickel steel. Or, and I don't know if this would be possible, use actual revolver medallions from S&W, Colt, and Ruger.

Well, what do you folks think of my idea?

A single blade might be cool but you don't really see that with gunstocks historically.

Edit - S&M made some single blade Gunstocks

Oooh, what about a single blade reverse gunstock with recessed joint so the kicker doesn't stick out when closed... and pinchable!

I am really surprised that we have now seen the stag ones shipping yet. I guess the Rendezvous put it off a little bit. I can't wait for pictures of them! The pictures of the rough scales look to have fantastic looking Sambar.

Just received my cocobolo #44 with satin blades. The Northfield etching on the main blade is different than the one on the polished blades. It only says Northfield.
