Brass is back on the menu... GEC #44

This one came in today. Very dark and cloudy day for taking pictures but :

I think it is even nicer than I thought it would be . As for as the F & F and Build Quality goes , it is really top drawer . Matter of fact , it will be stored in the top drawer with all my other Northfields . Made a mistake and forgot to get pictures of the Pile Side to show but , the Jigging and the Color go almost all the way to the bolsters contrary to some of the Northfields that I have received . The Jigging is almost like my 78 but not quite . Very happy with this one folks .

Satin looks great, Alan joeradza joeradza . Cocobolo with polished blade made it home today. Every bit as well made as the Ebony I received a while back, with maybe a slightly lighter pull. Worth the wait!

That's one of the classiest knives to come out in a while.

My autumn gold arrived today as well. Got one with the satin blades. Well worth the wait. Actually bought two, but the cocobolo was a gift for a friend.

Can’t wait for my autumn gold to arrive:thumbsup: you guys really got the juices flowing lol . If it’s anything like my Cocobolo’s it just might kick it out of my pocket !

You know, when this thread started in the beginning of March, there were quite a few questions and concerns. Now, it is almost six months later, I think I read all the posts at one time or another. This knife sure seemed to meet and exceed everybody's expectations. I hope to get a stag one soon.

I am a newbie (at 57) at knife collecting and heard the name Great Eastern Cutlery for the first time in April. Quality is what drew me to them. I own a few now and plan on getting more soon. I hope the quality continues to impress. Since the knives are not cheap, it makes it "a little" easier to pay for a high quality product.:) Keep up the good work GEC!

We share the same observation. I honestly wasn't sure I was going to like the 44 but it won me over pretty quick...both in general design and GECs quality. Since this thread started I picked up two and have a stag on the way soon. Every post I see where someone has just got their new 44 has been almost entirely joyous, gushing with happiness and yearning for another one. It has been a great run no question.

Larry, you know quality! I have watched this company do some amazing things in the past decade, and then some. Bill Howard and GEC have brought out some of the most loved and coveted traditional knives in the market today! Their mission has remained true, making the older patterns that bring great memories along with them. I don't even think about other brands these days. GECs are hard to beat due to their quality or fit and finish. I started with older knives but quickly was drawn in by GEC's attention to detail. There's no better joy than to open a brand new GEC knife and realize the anticipation was all worth it!

Hi All:

I haven't been as active in the forums lately, but it doesnt mean I've left you all. Just reading when i can. Anyhow, last Thursday after work, in an effort to squeeze one more excursion into this summer with my boys, we headed to Niagara Falls, via TITUSVILLE.

From central Maryland to Titusville takes one through some rugged country, but the pay off last Friday was worth it. It's been since 2013 since I'd been through the doors and it was my boys first time. As my boys chose one knife from the store, I asked Chris about the stag gunstock, she said their in final inspection right now (last Fri), and would I like to go look at the lot and pick One? Well, who wouldn't want to do that! So I picked a narly set with even-fat stag and i just really like it.

For those that have been around a while, you know from pictures and past threads that I have always gravited to the large QCCC gunstock and I have quite a collection of those. These GEC versions are just perfect. Anyhow, the picture, from the car, in GECs parking lot from last Friday, literally hot off the production line.......

Wow.

What a nice story behind your knife.

Great stag.

I missed out on the stag.

I hope to see more pics of the 44 in stag.

Did not know you could go to the factory and buy a knife directly.

Congrats..
