Breeden Knife Number Three, and some Firestarting Under Very Wet Conditions

Awesome pics Bro! You're definitely making me want one of those in about a ten inch blade. Oh...and a farm to roam on with it lol!! Here I've had to re adapt to smaller tools...all over again. I could still kick my brother for selling the farm.

Hi all,

Caine glad I could help in making your day LOL.

Mistwalker, Thanks, it was fun doing that project with that knife. I would like to try a 10" one too, in time I will make one up then I will have to send it to you and see what your thoughts are? LOL
You know I do not want it to sound like I am bragging I am not, but I am fortunate to live on farm and get to roam around through the timber and valleys and pastures that we have and the streams and little creeks that we have are clear and good clear water. and when it is boiled up it taste good too. It really is neat to be able to walk out and if I want to have fire i do if I want to cut a live tree down I do Locust trees are hated by most here and there are so many it is crazy. heck sometimes I even get paid to cut them down LOL. We have had a really cool summer here the temps are in the high 70s now and the we only hit 90 or above this july on twice so far.
that is like unheard of LOL. When I started that fire for fire hardening my spear it felt pretty good that morning to sit by it. and the smell of the walnut wood burningis like no other smell. I really like that wood for burning
in my campfires. I hope someday you can come here. there is a lot of locust to cut LOL.

To bad about your brother selling the family farm.

Snow thanks, I am really liking that blade shape and the slanted guard is so AWESOME. I mean you can hold that knife and it is SECURE in your hand like no other knife or knives I have ever held or used. It is so cool. Thanks again to mistwalker for designing the Warthorn knife :D

That's cool, I'd like to check one out, although putting pink handles on it may be the only way you get it back lol.

I know my brother had his reasons and all. The only thing that makes me mad is that five years before I wanted to buy 2 acres of it...on an edge even...and offered him cash...., he said he had no intensions of selling any of it. I still have friends who own farms with lots of timber on them so I still have places to go where I can carry whatever I like with no trouble....it's just a 45 minute drive to get there.

Now thats what i call cool. Add some pink handles, and then you get mindblowin! :D

Im definetely gonna have to get both a mega and a normal warthorn someday!

And yes, this is making a busselover jealous! (Jealous of the mega-warthorn and it reminds me of the MOAB, which im waaaayyy to poor to buy) ;)

Man gotta say, this design is really great, its so damn versatile! Great job Mist and Bryan!

edit:

Btw, Bryan, I sent you an email.

It is really versatile, I'm glad you like it as I really like it a lot.

That MOAB is an interesting knife no doubt....but I don't see myself ever paying $2,300.00 for a knife.

Hi all,

Well there must be something to that 10" blade length I was just informed by one of the top guys at the United States and Rescue and Special Operations
Group that he wants his MEGA with 10" blade and the rest of the kit too.

$2 grand :eek:for a knife. What does it look like?

Snow I was not sure what to say about the Busse lovers. I just make basic knives.

I am hoping to keep the cost down on the MEGA to less than $260.
this was my first one and it really took me a little while to get the sheath and the knife and it all put together. I bet this one took me 14 or so hours to do LOL I am hoping to have it alldown to 12 hours. I was totaling the parts and and it is roughly $110 for and then if I can keep the time down to 12 hours at $12 an hours is what I charge so that is $254 smackers. that is a lot for a knife.

yea I was thinking that if I put Pink on for the handles I might get it back too LOL But then again I do not want a pink handled knife either LOL

Zang thanks, I really like this design even in the longer knife wise. the slanted guard is the key though. It is just so dang Awesome.
Well if I can ever make you up a Warthorn or a MEGA just let me know it would be my pleasure.

Thanks for the e-mail and all to.

Versitile in not the word it is just freaking awesome:D. or should I say dang freaking awesome LOL

Well take care all,

Bryan

Bumped this thread for TF and his ? on how do you prepare to make a fire.

Hi all,
Today my neice and her boy friend and his 2 kids stopped by here at the farm and so we decided to have a weenie roast this evening. Well to get the fire started I thought I would use the MEGA Warthorn to split wood up and then got the fire going. It was nice evening to sit around a fire and enjoy the company of famliy and friends.
LOL I love using that MEGA.
