Bret Dowell Knives

- cheers, Tim :)

Have a wee one on the way, but I'll keep schtum till it appears in UK.

But, my only folder so far from Bret...

Don't know how he does it - this grind is slicey-slicey-nicey......the edge is mean, it'll bite ya, just like that

Sorry, not good pics under artificial light

John: I wondered when you were going to post this beauty
Charles

Was going to wait for warmer weather and sunshine to take a group shot, but took a few shots before old man winter ran me inside.

That is some special mammoth John. Congrats. Hope you are doing well!

Thanks Mike. Now the sun is shining and the mercury is going up, life is good!

Hey John why don't you send me your prop in the background.:) Nice to see the knife still resides in okie land too.

Bret, am glad you noticed. In my time of collecting cover materials, that is the best chunk of mammoth I have found. Will be happy to send it your way when it's my turn for a couple slipjoints. :)

Good looking group John. Don't think I've seen that smaller stag one on the left. Maybe next coffee chat?

Ah, so that is what mammoth "in the raw" looks like. I thought it was a chunk of wood and couldn't for the life of me understand why Bret wanted it ;)

I recently had the opportunity to own a couple pieces of Dowell's work. I have to say that they're incredible. The fit and finish instantly converted me. The sound of the "action" is straight up addictive and the grind is the best I've seen. They're easily two of my favorite slip joints. I can't wait till I have the chance to own more of his work.

Here they are:

(Sorry about the poor lighting)

I love that green micarta trapper Jordan, I think it's Bret's best pattern. He has that style down perfect and you're correct, his grinds and action are superb!

Awesome stuff Jordan :) I'm glad you hopped on to Bret's work for sure. Glad to talk to you in PM's about it too.

Some shots I've taken recently of Bret's work. The Loveless City Knife tribute was taken on 11/14/16, in -3°f out with -23° wind chill..micarta is great for the cold weather.
