I am pretty excited about this one! I would like to order a second one for carry, but just can't justify it. It will be joining my CKS 113. I will have to figure out lanyards for both of them now!

I didn't catch the different variations at first. I was actually taking a break from work to order this, so didn't do a thorough review. Hoping for a darker one but will be happy with any.
very nice. going between a stag 113 and a jigged sunset 501 as a christmas present to my son this year... My wife snagged the BOTM for me earlier today... my first buck with finish work on the handle

Gone before I could get home... oh well. I guess the good news is, I've got several sub-4-inch blade fixed blade knives in my collection to choose from, so even though I like it, it's not something that would really fill a need for me.

I wanted it and had it in my cart but didn't get it. I may regret it later but it will be a small regret compared to the amount of debt I'll be paying off in a week. I had already splurged on my Buck 119 Pro that I still need to take a picture of. Soon I won't have to pick and choose so much.

Well the price is the same as the build it yourself custom 113 with NK guard, Ironwood, with S30V blade. I don't like the fact that it may come with blond rosewood the looks like oak, or an orange color, the dark color with nice grain is what I'm hoping mine will look like. Like others have said I missed the 112 & 110 variations of this style Buck!

I'm going to say apples to oranges. The scalloped handles, at least on the previous run of 110 and 112 are on another level compared to the flat handle ironwood.

Don't get me wrong - great ironwood is something to behold. I love great ironwood. BUT, the scalloped cocobolo on those 110 and 112, you can not get anything like it in the current custom shop.

When you have one of these scalloped 110 / 112 knives in your hand, then you know you are looking at a work of art.

Fingers crossed these 113 are of the same rare quality (whichever variation in color one receives).

How does everyone feel about the steel choice? I don’t mind CPM154 one bit, I have a lot of knives both folders and fixed in this flavor of metal and find it to be great for all around use. It doesn’t seem like Buck uses it often (?) so that kinda made it unique in this case for me and another reason I thought it was a good purchase.

I’m a big fan of CPM-154. It’s a nice balanced steel and Buck does a great job with it. The edge retention isn’t crazy, but it’s still quite a bit better than 420hc. It trades some toughness for that edge retention of course, but I don’t need crazy toughness in such a small knife. It’s also a lot easier (for me) to sharpen than s30v. The burr always breaks nice off nice and cleanly for me. :)

I dig the tan sheath this is shipping with too. :D
