Dave, do you see the sheath? It looks like that one, you sent to me.
It is only a bit modified. The Belt loop is shortened, the press stud is changed and a rivet is missing. Otherwise there are no more differences. I think that's an original sheath. Is that possible? tomorrow I make a pic for comparison.

"see" ya,
Haebbie

There is a BUCK stamp on the snap, but nothing on the sheath itself.

JB,
Any idea when they were made? That is one awsome 124.
Mike

Hi Mike,

Blades guide shows they were made in 1986 and that only 40 of the 1000 were produced. There is also 4 made with Ivory  . I can only imagine what one of those would go for. As you can see I lost the bid at 1525.00...actually it was my wife bidding for it.

She was trying to get it for a special anniversary gift....How cool was that. She was really pissed off...she has never used ebay and got snipped...LOL. If you could have heard the way she was talking....I'm glad it was a snipe job...she had been watching the auction for the last few hours and the refreshing every few seconds at the end...22 seconds to go and she new she was the high bidder....then .03 seconds after the auction was to end it popped up with the other winner. If that guy would have entered his bid sooner I think my wife would have raised the bid up to who knows...she was caught up in the moment....LOL. I know the feeling I've been there before.

Next to the Red handle....I need a full tang stag and one of those white handled jobs like Heabbie has:thumbup: .

Sounds you got a keeper! It makes collecting a lot more fun when the better half is on board with it, doesn't it? I'm sure she'll make sure she gets the next one.

JB, you can have the white one. I like to have the red handle and I'll trade. It may be your advantage, that the red one is not as rare as the white one. What do you think?

Best,
Haebbie

Hi Haebbie,

I'm still on the hunt for that elusive red head myself. You will most likely find one on your side of the big pond before Mike and I find one over on this side.

I think the Buck 124 Full Tang is a way over rated POS. I say that only because I am jealous that I don't have one. :( Yet...

Endeavor to persevere my long necked friend. You will find one when the time is right. Good things come to those who wait.....But, I remember that cartoon of the two vulture's saying "patience my arss I'm going to kill something"....LOL

I appreciate the tip John. Truly do. But I have been checking a famous auction site that starts with a vowel and the ones there seem to be going higher than I'd wanna pay (or able to pay).

Add that to the fact that Rosie is no longer gonna be on "The View", I'm f'n just depressed. :(

Question:

does anybody know whether the red handle version of the 124 was even delivered to Europe?
