Buck's Kustom Knife Shop IS still OPEN!

and is kinda neat the way it works and it fits with the current theams...
must say i liked the old one better... a tad simpler and cheeper
i know the cost of liveing has gone up ... i pay a buck more for each of my "caning" jars,,
and i dont dought that things are expensive ...
some how i feel that may happes retailers of Limited Editions were up set over that they charged more and likely i will have to rely on club offerings as i can no longer aford to by a custom shop one now... on fixed income i did not get any thing like what grocerys went up let alone gas...

could be that current inflations of fule and steel have a larger effect on prices then i dreamed would be..
but i recall in 67 i paid over a days wages for a electircians helper for my first 110
today i think that wage would be around 110... i paid jest over 12 then..
well i needed to sell some knives for the trip any way...

I sold a bunch of mine to pay for cruciate ligament replacement...and with gas @ $4.10/gal here, any trip/vacation plans I had are -

Oh my! I think that we are in the same boat, Darryl. I used to get a fully done custom for less than the price of the Sambar inserts. :(
 
:cool:...Just another kick in the butt from this "World Economy" I guess. I see gas prices over $4.00 a gallon...food prices that are ridiculous to the point that gardens are popping up all over the area...and now Buck Customs that have tripled or quadrupled in price. Guess where the money I have coming in is gonna go...Amazing what's happening to this great land...:(...

damm hitch in the gitty up ... i have not has any o thoes fer well ni on to 30 years!
directly lead to haveing one walking hindge replaced and the other due...
has it worked? hope so ... the alterntives are ... well slopy..

I saw that ad on TV for "The Scooter Store", about how they work with your insurance, medicaid, and health care provider, so I called them and asked if they had anything in my price range...this is what they sent me... :grumpy:

:eek:...I like that...Even has a spot for me to stand on when we're driving around lookin' for dumpsters behind grocery stores...:D...:p
 
...:cool:...I'm sure someone likes the new website very much...( me excluded )...but if I had just joined the forum and was shown the "old" website and this "new improved" website and was asked which one is the "new improved" website...I would have picked the "old" one...IMHO there wasn't a thing really wrong with it beyond the fact that it wasn't kept up and areas that were shown, to be used by people browsing the site like surveys and comments etc, were not being enabled or monitored by the company...Today's "Custom" prices are another topic...:(

I guess I will have to stand alone and say that I like the new website alot better than the old... I can see though for users with dial up etc it could be a bummer. The old site was outdated and the pics of custom knives were poor to say the least...(all pics of the knives were really) I can design a custom knife and see almost exactly ,with detail, what it will look like, on the new site. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

The custom knife prices have gone up a tad if you stick with the cheaper wood handles but I cannot believe the jump on the KOA and elk/stag!!!!!!!!
The Exotics are insane! (especially the paua shell) I can see I wont have another custom unfortunately :(
I am definately glad that I bought my S30V/paua shell inlayed Rush a few months back!

i would have had quite a number of customs if i had not commited so much to post falls trip...
but so goes life...
ya know trax even tho they did a knee replacemant they did NOT do cr. lig. replacement!
cheep VA med care...
oh well... ya gets what ya pays for...

I also wonder why the Elk handle for the custom shop Alpha is $83.00 and to get the elk antler handle for the 110 is $165.00?????

If someone were to spend the money on the top notch custom 110 or alpha a guy could now spend well over $1000.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am also curious now, how the custom shop will do with these kind of price increases and gas prices going up along with food etc.
Will it be able to stay open???:confused:
 
The knife I priced out with Pete over the phone before the new website came up has now DOUBLED in price. When did elk horn and sambar stag get so expensive?

Oh how I wished I had ordered it. I was just looking for the pad of paper where I wrote everything down. I was trying to decide if I should go ahead and order it with Damascus so that is why I didn't just order it at the time. The Damascus was more expensive but it wasn't $288 more expensive! I have always known that I have lousy timing. There is no doubt about it now.

Maybe it is just a glitch with the website or maybe Joe is playing a cruel joke on us for not being his friends!
 
...:(...It's just incredible how a Buck 110 with BG-42 ( S30V today ), nickel steel bolsters, finger-grooves, Sambar stag scales and a leather sheath cost me $124 dollars 6 months ago and will cost me $400 today...:rolleyes:...Lessons learned from the oil companies I guess...:grumpy:

yea that is what i wandered ...
places i have been to that have price changes on supply end i see listed as
"Market Price"
i had said i was going to order a MOP real soon ( for post falls show) and
told them i was holding off tell i got my current orders in first...
seems with me if i have more then two orders in it gets real confuseing:o..
wish i had not wated now... dont like pula as much...
realy want a MOP some thing... but now :confused:
 
I wonder how many of us were waiting for the custom shop to be added to the new website and will no longer be ordering? I won't be.
 
We forumites were quized by Joe about the "new" custom shop. I don't recall too many people expressing interest in 100% price increases.
