Buck's Kustom Knife Shop IS still OPEN!

wish i had not wated now... dont like pula as much...
realy want a MOP some thing... but now

Thats one change I do like better ;) The Paua shell has beautiful patterns and colors, but for that kinda money I will buy another car or a moped :D

I wonder how many of us were waiting for the custom shop to be added to the new website and will no longer be ordering? I won't be.

+1 (unless I win the lottery :D)

Hmmm sounds like the price increase is there to pay for the new website.
I'd rather have the old website and the old prices back.
I was going to buy a custom 110 this summer but if the prices have risen that much it will probably never happen.

You gents ain't kidding!!! Don't know if I can order in the near future at those prices...$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I had to take out a manifying glass to be certain I was reading the pricing on the Paua scales correctly...$940????

And that damn Damascus jumped up $60.
$288 for stag???

So, I typed in what ordering a Custom Shop version of the Alaskan Guide Stag S30V would cost....

Same materials, minus the black blade (same S30V steel though)...$385.00
At Cabelas...$154.99

We forumites were quized by Joe about the "new" custom shop. I don't recall too many people expressing interest in 100% price increases.

...Most of those increases are far and away more than 100% increases Tony...Someone must think we all work for those oil conglomerates...

It's hard to imagine that the cost of stag and other horn type materials has gone up that much. I don't think supply/demand has changed that much. I do think the previously mentioned global economy is at work here. The lesser valued dollar.

Does anyone have the old prices anywhere? I cannot find mine for the life of me. I am now pretty sure that the knife I priced out has actually almost TRIPLED in price:thumbdn:

Wow,
Who would have thought, for a friday morning this thread would get SOOOoooo popular :D

Start saving gentlemen ;)

......Not gonna be much saving for Buck Customs here Jim...I'm saving to get food for next week and gas to get to the store...This is just another "drop-kick" to the "nads" to the consumer...:grumpy:

Me too Darryl, I'm saving for gas and food as well. No customs for that money!
The S30V Kalinga is a great price now (also the AG knives from Cabelas as Goose previously mentioned)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You could always come back to WI you know... Gas is only $3.79 for 87 octane and $4.09 for 93 premium ;) (LOL)

......You have no idea how many times I've thought of that Jim...but I heard that the cost of heating in Wisconsin has doubled twice since I left in 2000...and that's before all these insane petroleum prices this year. Could that be possible Jim???...I used to heat with gas and a wood heater......

Yes Darryl that is possible! I dont know how much they have gone up but my Brother heats with fuel oil... I believe he spent just over $3000.00 to heat this winter. (to put that into Buck language, that would be 3 Custom shop Paua shell 110's) ;) LOL

I need to get solar panels for the house, and find a Honda spree I can drive year round up here :D

:eek:...The last year I was there ( 2000 ) my yearly heating bill was $400...:eek:...I think I'm gonna be sick...:barf:...That's what it would be for my last Buck Custom if I bought it today...:rolleyes:...

So where does Buck buy their stag (etc)?
They must import it from Mars according to that price hike!
