Bunny Knife 2022

This subject has been awful quiet.
Not that it will have an affect in the long run, but waverave waverave Darren did at least made an admin post in his group to stay away from the BF knife if you were not an active member over here. Also explained if you wanted a knife next year to become an active member and that he would take down any post referring to the BF knife.

Like I said it may not change all the behavior, however I give him credit for confronting the issue and attempting to smooth things out with one group.

Thanks for the update

I know I keep missing out each year.....
The first was because I didn't one where to look?

Then later, even with my Actual involvement (apparently not there), Gold membership (then, I Was), and patiently waiting with money in hand......

Still not good enough!

*I figure a few more years of crying in my beer will somehow magically make it available to me........ Meh.

So wait... you're saying that you need to pay attention and participate in the Traditional Forums to land a Traditional Forum Knife?
... weirdly appropriate.

Oh.....My bad.
I thought we were talking about the Bladeforum knives?
Isn't it called that?.......Idk what I'm thinking of???

There has not been a general "Bladeforums" SFO knife since Spark stopped managing the process. He used to do some nice ones - there were some pretty Kershaw Skylines one year.

Since then, members of the Traditional forum have worked directly with manufacturers, or partnered with member dealers who were willing to put up with all of the hassle to deal with the ordering and shipping part of it, but under the rule that nobody was allowed to make a profit on them (except the manufacturers I suppose).

So it has been a volunteer effort with time and energy donated for free by various dealers and traditional forum members and traditional forum admins. It has never been a full "all of Bladeforums" knife since 2014.

The rules were usually pretty lenient - you only needed to have something like 25 posts in the Trad subforum and been a member for a few months. Anyone who had been around for a while and peeked in and commented occasionally would be able to pass muster.

The only people blocked were those that just joined, either out of random chance, or because they joined just to get the knife.

I admire you planting your flag on that hill. Not sure why it‘s still a mystery to you why you haven’t been able to get a Bladefoums knife.

Nah.... It's Ok. I understand.

I'm just an irritable, Grumpy old coote...... haha
Never got along with Others.
Never liked being told what to think or do.

We want it, because we cant have it.....

A wise man once told me..... "You have to choose which ditches you are going to die in"
I've Always have had the problem, of wanting to die in them All.

:D

Judging by how Charlies 2022 proposed thread went and the mods responses upon closing it, I get the feeling that if a bunny knife is produced it will be either a GEC general run or an SFO. Just a gut feeling I have. At 500 knives and a generous guestimate of $100 per, that's $50,000 in sales at no profit. Who in their right mind would take on such a task? As for past dealers which accepted the challenge, the guy who did the Buck Forum knife all but disappeared, last year's host has a website with nothing in stock. It is as if the Forum knife is a kiss of death to the dealers that partake...just an observation.
