Bushcraft Knife challenge - Interest?

That looks first rate Scott. Does ave Kephart in it, but I love the look of that handle. That, combined with your excellent grind, will make for an excellent knife. Hope you kept a copy of the design...

Thanks guys. I really like the feel of this one in the hand. I do have a template cut out.

Great design Scott.... I'm a big fan of the gentle dip in the handle/blade transition. It sho do look purdy ta boot!

Here is my entry... a little S-Curve bushy. 1084, 3 3/4" blade, full size handle, ugly but efficient.

Top one.

Here is my entry...

Fair chance it will get Ken's vote. ;)

But a really nice looking design, Rick. Looks like it would be a real pleasure to use--I like big handles on short knives. I'd take that beauty on any trip in a heart beat. And with a knife like that, I could see spending more time sitting out on the porch turning big sticks into little sticks while sippin' whisky and thinking of past mountains conquered and whitetails pursued.

If one did that sort of thing.

That sounds like a great way to spend a day.... a good ol' dog at your feet would be the icing on the cake.

Thanks, Rotte.

I'll be posting.... soon. I've got an oversized prototype for an order, because someone is developing a habit of ordering what ends up being the prototype of a challenge knife......

I'm waiting on a couple particular pieces of steel to show up tomorrow or tuesday.

Here's the knife for the challenge. This is a new design. Just took a piece of steel, took a Sharpie, drew an outline and starting grinding. It's 9 1/2" overall with a 4 3/4" blade, 4 1/2" cutting edge, 3/16" thick by 1 3/8" wide. Turquiose/black canvas micarta scales, A2 steel.

Scott that looks sweet, I'll be honest when I first read about a Bushcraft challenge I pictured a bunch of Woodlore clones.
Seeing yours, Ricks and the start of Turley's there are some great looking blades and all very original....yeah I'm excited !:D:thumbup:

Nice looking blade, Scott. I like the design and materials.
Another winner and a new one for your line of fine knives.:)

Man....I cant get cought up as it is.

Question...................I need to review the rules again but I have a few of my personal knives. Who is doing the testing again? I'll go review the requirements again..................:D Damn YOU:p

When will I have to mail it in? It's my deer knife man :)

Ahh. Good. No complaining now. Make yourself a new deer knife.

Is there a definitive word on HT? Can it be outsourced or not? If not then Im in. Its only my 5th knife and I dont have the funds to buy an even heat, but I am getting better at knife making and it will give me an oppurtunity to have people evaluate my knife and help me become a better knife maker.

I am deploying to Agfghanistan in the near future and some guys in my unit are wanting me to make them a knife. I need all the input I can get on my design and craftsmanship to give myself and my fellow soldiers a good knife.

The knives shown so far are outstanding. You guys do some awesome work and it would do me an honor to be in a competition with you guys.

Thanks.

Night Man,
We have made it open to all knifemakers and how they regularly go about making knives..... you're in if you want, bro. Sogn up in the other thread
