cept you!

Has the user become a maker, Mist?

I'm working on it...just playing around mostly so far but this is right up the lines I was working on for my first knives and thought maybe I could learn something from it. I'm using someone else's grinders but buying all my own materials and doing all the work except for the heat treat myself?

So...anyone 'cept me? ...really? that sucks!

Knives look awesome. This is gonna be a great time. Here is mine so far, i consider this my fifth knife i will have made. Im still debating on profiling the blade for more of a point and maybe smoothing the handle a little more, but im gonna sleep on it for a few days. I think it feels really good in the hand right now, its just very hard to tell what the final handle will feel like until you get the slabs on.

4 1/2 " blade, 4 1/2" handle, 3/16" thick, 1 1/2 at widest, O-1

Im gonna use some homemade micarta that I made out of some kahki pants I had and will probably put red liners with it.

Thanks Bruce. That knife of yours looks very unique. I like the shape. Is that a hollow grind? What kind of handles is she gonna get?

Tony and the crew,
I've got kiln problems. My sugar creek shot craps today.:grumpy:
I'm not out by any stretch of the imagination but I'm just giving a head up in case I HAVE to withdraw.
I'm hoping the switch I've got coming will fix it. If not it's about a three week to a month wait for my new kiln that I've got on order.
So if that's the case then I'll have to play catch up on orders and possibly drop out. (I hope not, I really, really want in on this)
Here's hoping.
Iz
