I know I got here late, but I still have a few things to say.
First of all I think Mr. Strider was 100% wrong.
Mr.Strider, you talk about how the customer is not always right, and keeping your personal dignity is more important than making a sale. Couldn't agree with you more, Mr. Strider. But there is a difference between keeping your dignity, and not being able to accept critisism. An 11 day wait for a reply is not reasonable by any standards and you shouldn't blow your top off when Mr.SKTRGNLDR told you that. You said in your post that you consider yourself an honest man, and that is why you won't apologise for telling him to "F-uck Off". Well Mr.Strider if you are honest, than you should certanly agree with me that an 11 day wait for an e-mail is not very reasonable, and you should at least apologise for that. If you would've done that in the first reply, than this whole thing would've ended differently.
Another thing, your reply was somewhat abrupt. You know, Mr. Strider you don't have to kiss ass of the customer, but surely there is nothing wrong with being extra-helpful. Like maybe including a direct link to the dealer page. I'm sure you see my point. You know selling these high-priced knifes, people don't just buy the knife, they also buy you(kinda). I mean one of the charms of the custom made knifes is that you know exacly where they are made and who made them, and personal rapport plays a great part in that too. I don't think that you should forget the personall part of the buisness while excelling in making knifes.
So, those are my 2cents. Feel free to rip me apart now, or at least try. I won't go down easily.
PS. Mr. Strider you sad "You can't even tell an ******* to F-uck off, with out a provoking a diskussion". If you said that to him in a bar, or somewhere else when you were not working, that is fine. But you were working at that time, Mr.Strider. Eventhough you own the company, and work for your self, you are still working and there for expected to behave in a professional manner. You don't have to bend over backwards, or kiss ass, but you don't have to telling a person to F-uck Off is clearly unproffesional nomatter how you put it. If you didn't wanna deal with him you could've just written, "With an attitude like yours, I don't want to have you as a customer. Regards."
I mean you may walk around your house in your underwear, do you do the same thing in the office?? What I am trying to say is that things ARE different in the office, even if you work for your self.
