Buyer BEWARE

It's a tempting thought, but I'm not leaving any feedback: good, bad, or neutral, until everything is done, including the paypal dispute.

Well played 1066vik,

No reason to leave the "mutt" any reason in his unstable thought process NOT to return your knife. Then you can hammer him with well deserved negative feedback. Not that I think it'll be needed after this thread.

Well, here's a new one.
I haven't heard word one from ARAK, not here, not PM, not email - since he tried to depth charge my sale thread and I offered him a refund if he would just ship me back the knife.
I've got an email from PayPal - he's disputing the sale through them and so they've pulled the purchase and shipping price out of my account.
WTF?!? -- I don't see anything to dispute. He said he's not happy, I told him I'd give him back his $$ if he would just send me back the knife. I don't have the knife back and it's been 2 weeks since he took delivery.

I called PayPal and gave my side, especially the part about offering a refund 2 weeks ago but no knife or other contact from the buyer until he filed his dispute, despite having several ways to contact me by email.
They want me to wait another 4-5 days to see if he ships the knife.

It is now the 12th. Any update?

:):):)
If it is that's news to me. I did not buy it as a factory second.
If you had asked for more detailed pictures before paying, I would have sent them.
If you had told me you were looking for an absolutely pristine safe queen for collection purposes, I would have told you this may not be the knife for you.
I sold it as a new, unused knife, in the condition I originally received it, which it is.

If you had not tried lowballing me the day I first posted this thread, or if you had emailed me with your concerns when you got the knife instead of posting this mess in the forum, then it would sound less like trolling and I likely would have offered to pay return shipping. If you're not happy with it, send it back in the condition it was delivered for a refund of the purchase price.

i agree with this dude its not a huge deal gah its a tiny piece a rubber chill its not like the tp of the blades chipped or the tip is broke off

The big deal is that ARAK has run off with the knife and done a paypal dispute which has also pulled the money out of 1066vik's account. So no money and no knife for 1066vik. ARAK has suddenly "disappeared" and hasn't responded to answer for himself.

I do hope that some sort of resolve has occured other than ARAK pulling off a scam :thumbdn:

I traded messages with ARAK last week when I found out about the PP dispute. Gave him my address so he could mail back the knife and got a confirmation from him that he would be sending it back.
That was the last I heard from him.
No shipping notice, no tracking/delivery confirmation number, nothing.
I spoke with PP again today and they escalated the claim -- which will send him an email letting him know things have been kicked into the next gear, and hopefully he'll get on the ball and send the knife back.
With luck, whether or not I hear back from him, the $$ end of things with PP will be resolved by Monday.

It is too bad there's no punishment for filing BS paypal disputes.

The only good out of all this is that ARAK has been outed as a useless, non-contributing member of BFC and hopefully NO ONE will seel or trade with him in the future!!

no knife - and no contact from him since I sent him my address on the 6th or 7th and he said he was sending the knife back -- BUT at least PP gave me back my $$.

Alright! Now you can give him his well deserved feedback. In the notes mabe you can hyperlink to this thread?

OK, acting on the advice of a member of BF that I respect, a few days back I sent an email to ARAK, since he hasn't logged onto the forum since 3/25.
The email was sent through the BF email system as well as directly from me to the 2 email addresses I had for him from the sale. (the ones tied to BF & and PP)

This is what was in the email (not using his real name):
ARAK,
When you first received the knife you were offered a refund if you would return the knife in the condition it was shipped.
A week later when you filed the paypal dispute you were again told if you would return the knife in the condition it was shipped I would refund the purchase price.
It's now been more than 30 days from your receipt of the knife. On April 7 in the paypal dispute you stated you were sending the knife back and I have not received the knife or any indication it has been shipped.
If I do not have a good shipping confirmation number showing the knife is indeed on its way back by Monday, April 26, I will consider the deal to be complete and all offers of refund retracted.

1066vik

It's well past closing time for any post office I'm aware of in the CONUS, so at this point I'm done with him and the sale is final as far as I'm concerned.

I concur, you went above and beyond and I'd be more than happy to buy/sell/trade with you

I'm actually glad he initiated the paypal dispute because it actually locked up the money and ended in your favor (and is untouchable by him now).

Take care, J.

This is a happy ending to this story. ARAK sold his soul for money, and could not even keep that. Light always makes darkness flee.

Glad he stepped and offered to make it right, but don't forget the seller sent the thing out that way in the first place. I'd say the buyer's fail and the seller's fail cancel each other out.

Not a chance......... have you read this whole thread?
