Camillus and Schrade of Old Given Short Shrift Now-A-Days

As a kid, my dad used to take me to drown worms off the old bridge (now gone) that carried Martisco Road over Nine Mile Creek. I still remember as a little guy staring into the huge culvert that carries the creek under the railroad. Fond memories!
Yeah I miss those days fishing there and the Erie Canal.I use to live behind the Milton Hotel when my Uncles father owned it back in the 60s.I believe he also owned wat was once called the Red door if you know any of these places. The Milton Hotel was a strip join last time I was through there.

Trevor, it's a World War II version... and a very nice example!:thumbsup: Camillus produced these in Rosewood and Bone. 3 3/4 inches closed. All steel construction.
Thank you I was actually told in a Electrician's Knife Thread that it possibly was part of a kit from WW2.Do you know we're I might find some history on it? Ether way thank you for your time. Trevor

A 12OT in a shotshell - that's something to think about! OH

The schrade 51OT "Big Timer" was made from 1978 to 1981 and came with a nice leather sheath. At 4 3/4" closed it is no small or lightweight knife. It's last retail price is listed in the 1981 schrade catalog for $33.95. There is no + stamp on this pattern indicating stainless blades like schrade usually did, but they are in fact stainless and the backspring appears to be stainless as well from my examples and the others I've seen. There may have been some early ones that had carbon blades, but that is speculation.

What a knife! A CHUNKY SCHRADE! I have never seen one of those but I love em. What a sweet chunk of Schrade.

Augie... I noticed your knife has the "PAT APPL'D" so thought I would share these ads I had found from 1965. I looked thru previous years catalogs and this was the first year I saw the "Razor Edged Stainless" with the PAT APPL'D note.

Thank you Kevin, really appreciate you taking the time to add information about these old knives, yours is a great looking example also,is yours bone or delrin? If it's delrin it's amazing how much it looks like bone with the white highlights.
