Thank you sir for the kind words! Here is what I was using:Thank you for taking us along on the method for your sheath making, fascinating and of the highest standard sir
In regard to hard wood, my understanding was that buloke (which grows locally to me) was the world’s hardest wood? I may be wrong.
Janka Hardness chart for Exotic Wood and Domestic Wood | Bell Forest Products
Janka Harndess is a quick way to compare exotic wood and domestic wood.
I know that the ligum vitae was used for propeller shaft bearings in the huge battle ships as it was self lubricating. Lots of folks will use pieces of polished bone too for molding leather, or antler even. The process is actually referred to as boning.
Any questions, I'm always around for that deal. Alos there is a lot of info ion Sheaths and Such here on BF.I too appreciate the primer on sheath making. I make sheaths myself on occasion. Sometimes they turn out just great, othertimes, with something to be desired. I am learning a great deal, thank you.
Well Amelie and her dad and lil sister just stopped by (0600) to pick up Spud for the junior rodeo this morning. Thursday evening we got some practice in and Camper got to go. Due to being horseback so much I've never really got into pocket carry too much. But since I was gonna be a pedestrian at this practice I carried Camper around in my back pocket. Worked pretty darn good in his new pants. Our daughter Alyssa was up for the day and so she went roping with us too. Camper got to meet her.

Amelie's boyfriend wasn't there so we took turns driving the quad:

Just do this today and ya got it girl:

As ranch ropers (not competitive team ropers) we have lots of different shots from lots of different angles not just straight behind. My wife Nichole is throwing a scoop loop head shot here:

Nothing is safe:

If it moves rope it:

Camper and I took a turn driving the quad too.

This is Justin Alyssa's friend. The girls are practicing team roping too:

Alyssa and Justin came up because they were bringing Alyssa's pig home from the butcher. Justin is a hunting guide and got her on a nice one that she shot at a ranged 320 yds!

Camper thought the links, later looked great. Garlic flavored and jalapeño and cheddar in this batch.

He was right!
