Hmmmm. Think I'm liking these.

Wow! Me, too! Why couldn't they center the shield, though. The OCD part of me is a little irked by that.

I agree. Although looking close, it seems the center pin and the hump in the handle don't align. Don't know if a centered shield would help or hinder as far as "balance" goes. Either way, still looks pretty nice.

Yeah, but not two, and not with the Northfield touches.

Edit to add: I just googled "Ebony Pemberton" to try to find one. Apparently, there are several women with that name on Facebook. I chuckled.

Edit to also add: I found this pic on GEC's site. It looks like the ebony ones, at least so far, aren't very dark. :(

There has been some talk in the guitar communities about the fact that the really dark Ebony is becoming harder and harder to find. Also, I think Bob Taylor of Taylor guitars has some sort of monopoly on a large quantity of the fine Ebony coming into the US. He basically told his consumers to get used to streaked and lighter colored Ebony from now on.

I've become interested in these, overturning my initial scepticism!

But, I prefer a very small knife as a single blade, the Northfield seems a bit bloated/bulky perhaps.

Most of the Tidioutes are dark: Horn, Chocolate Acrylic, Ebony(streaked..) Black Olive Bone. Pity the bone wasn't in a lighter colour that new Mustard Bone of theirs looks something. Will be after the Black Olive Bone nevertheless, it has the Tidioute stamped shield- hopefully this is not some SFO...

I'm interested in the Snakewood, but I have heard this wood is prone to cracking, and I EDC all my knives. Is the Snakewood as durable as ebony and coco?

Yep. More and more fingerboards will be lighter in color than they used to be. Similar concerns are going on with rosewood. Brazilian rosewood is almost nomore when it comes to guitar fingerboards.

Im sure that GEC probably takes a few suggestions from this forum from time to time. Im sure they get frustrated when they do come out with a model that might have been influence by discussions they have seen only to see us say things like "if only it was a two blade" or "if only it had Ebony covers" Lol!:D
