I'm a driller on a oil rig. Just got the promotion to driller from derrickman last week...:D

Congrats! An uncle of mine is in gas/oil back in Ok. That is some tuff work! We end up subbing out work to horizontal drill through a rock for sub grade gas/electrical line to a gas drilling company now and then. If the rock is too big to blast or crack, drill! Demolition is fun.

Knives are one of those preoccupations that seem to strike people from all walks. I'm a computer systems engineer and I've worked with computers in one form or another all of my adult life, and I guess I started collecting knives when I was about 12.

I am in college for nursing, a mom, and I do work for Jeffie Poo.

My wife is a nurse, she really likes the work. We also had kids while she was still in college and that was really hard work for her with me working away from home 3 weeks a month. Most people don't truly understand how hard kids can be to raise.....I'd rather be workin' on the rig:p

I am starting to see this. Never really thought about this fact, and have been using knives all my life (only 28, but still), until I joined this forum and got my (first) ESEE. Glad to be a part of this group.

Corporate communications, soon to be high school biology teacher. I can't stand the ineptitude and inequity in corporate America. Nor the meetings. I'm hoping I can at least make learning fun for kids and try to get them on the right path in life.

Oh yeah, I'm 28. Uggghhhh.....getting old.

Good luck brother - takes balls and honor to make a switch like that -you WILL make a difference in these kids lives

I worked on wall st. for years and then decided to teach here in NYC. Right now I teach 9 and 10 world history in west harlem. It feeds the soul.

Now - I own and run a Internet business, selling stuff I love and selling it to very interesting and fun people that I respect and appreciate very much, Those of which I get to chat with every once in a while and hear the most interesting stories. Being able to provide products to people that then go out and do things they love and enjoy and live life and have fun brings a tremendous amount of joy to what I do. I truly love what I do.

Stay safe my friends.

Tim's good people - he sold me my first ESEE! :)

I'm 32 and currently an Area Sales Manager with Mattress Firm. Before this I worked for the Department of Homeland Security for 3 years in an attempt to utilize my Bachelors in Criminal Justice. I've been a knife guy since the first time I saw First Blood when I was around 5 or 6. After watching MacGyver every week as a kid, I bought my first SAK with my Christmas money and haven't looked back!

This, for some reason, does not sit well with me.. I am graduating in the spring with a BA in Criminal Justice. Where are you located? No drive to continue with the degree, or just a lack of job opportunities?

Ryan -

I left DHS because of a back and shoulder injury.

Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement is a wonderful field and you'll definitely not want for work or advancement opportunities.

p.s. - sorry for the minor drift off topic

Great thread. I've done a little bit of everything, from working at a sawmill when I was in my early teens, to working a farm, riding rodeos for several years, working as a machinist for a dozen years, working in telecom, was an international project manager for a very large telecommunications outfit, and about a half-dozen other things before knives and survival hobbies became a real job :)

I've been doing custom Audio/Video for almost 10 years. I am now in business for myself.
I am 30 years old.

I shoot chickens outta cannons at airplanes.

I remember reading a story a few years back about the Brits testing out the chicken cannon. One thing they forgot: using thawed chickens. Seems they shot a frozen bird and it completely destroyed the cockpit.
