"Carl's Lounge" (Off-Topic Discussion, Traditional Knife "Tales & Vignettes")

I couldn’t think of a better place to ask and it doesn’t seem like a question that deserves its own thread:

Have any of you ever seen a single-spring opposite end cap lifter; where one side is a clip or spear and the other side is a caplifter? It seems like it would be a neat way to do it, but I’ve never seen one.

Funny thing about the purses and shoes- they absolutely think they NEED all those options, and they're disappointed if you don't notice them. When I used to show my wife a new knife (I don't bother any more) she'd say, "It looks just like all the others." . . . . . WOW!!

That sounds like the reaction I always get when I show my wife a new knife. “Don’t you already have a knife that looks like that?”

I’ll tell you what, though, I bought one new knife recently that did not get that reaction…

They do that as a pattern in Sheffield, often an advertising knife, all stainless. I've had them, but not sure if I have a pic (I'll edit my post if I can find one)

I'm not sure if it's single spring, but this Klaas has a caplifter and clip on opposite ends:

Thanks guys! I knew I could count on at least one person knowing about it, but already three! This place rocks!

Thanks for posting this. Very sorry to hear about Mr. Russell's passing. He lived a long and admirable life. RIP

Mr. A.G. Russell was truly a big part of knife history. News of his passing is sad news indeed. Thoughts and prayers to his family.

That IS sad news. :( I didn't REALLY know him, but kind of felt like I did from watching his videos on his website. Prayers for his family and friends.
