Thanks for sharing your favorite soups, everyone! They’re making me hungry and giving me ideas. :)

Posole with red chili and pork is another staple in our house, as is minestrone. We had a lentil and chicken stew last week.

Pea and ham is another favorite, but we haven’t made it in a couple of years. Will need to change that. We’ve made soups similar to potato and leek, but I don’t think we’ve ever made the classic version.

I love the idea of making gulyásleves. I was fortunate to try it on a visit to Budapest and very much enjoyed it. Another one on the list!

BTW, for me it is chili > soup > stew, and we include all of those in our Souper Sunday repertoire.

I make several soups but my favorites are my meatball tortellini, beer brat soup and one I call Brewer Chowder which is a potato chowder featuring all 5 of the Klement's brand sausages you can get at Milwaukee Brewer baseball games: Italian, Polish, hot dog, bratwurst and chorizo. I know it sounds odd but everyone loves it. I had a friend of mine pay me $100 to make some for him and his family a few Christmas's ago LoL. :)

My old heart won't stand watching the games anymore. I check in on the radio occasionally if I can't wait till morning. They had me worried yesterday.

I've been off my food all day, so just had some miso soup

I've let you guys off the hook long enough... :D Go Hawks!

The Packers are falling apart and it all revolves around Aaron Rodgers salary... he gets paid a lot for his talent but it should be half of that because he is not a leader. The Packers do not have a "leader" and have not had one since Brett Favre. I know it won't happen, but it would be the ultimate irony if Brett Favre was their head coach next year :D:thumbsup: At least Russel Wilson is a former Wisconsin Badger ;)

veitsi_poika veitsi_poika Russell also played at NC State. He redshirted the 2007 season, played in 2008, 2009, and 2010. I saw him play several great games, he's the real deal. He graduated NC State in three years.

Yeah I thought it was odd he came to Wisconsin for a year... if I remember right he played semi-pro baseball for a while before coming here.

Kevin, congrats on your Badgers overcoming my Boilermakers yesterday in a defensive struggle!

Defenseless struggle? ;)

Actually being from the U.P. I've been a Michigan State fan since I was a kid. They're down this year but have been pretty good over the past 10 years or so :) I like most Big Ten teams though (just not Ohio State):D

Michigan has a great coach right now. Will probably make playoff.

I like 15 bean soup, particularly good with ham hock added

I forgot to ask earlier, is that made with 15 varieties of beans? Intriguing.

Can’t go wrong with all the sausages. :D

Here’s how today’s French Onion Soup effort turned out:

Three pounds of onions were very slowly cooked by themselved for about an hour and then simmered in the stock I started yesterday. After ladling into bowls, it was topped with toasted bread and grated cheese and then popped under the broiler for a bit until golden bubbly delicious.
