This may seem a small thing to some, but its important to me. My little pal has gone missing, she is an indoor cat and never goes out. I live to close to a road and dogs that would hurt her. Today I came home early and she didn't meet me at the door. After looking around I found one of the slide out panels on the side a window a.c. unit was loose. I've looked and called for quite awhile to no avail. I'm hoping later this evening she'll be hungry and trying to find her way back inside. I'm going to try to find her then. So please say a little prayer of safety and protection for Tater, and for a safe return, many many thanks to you all.

It's not a small thing to me, David. Will pray you find her safe and soon.

Misplaced Hillbilly Misplaced Hillbilly ..Dave I hope she turns up soon.Leave some food out.Hopefully she can channel the spirit of the long passed Tiddles (actual name in cat language translates to The Four Claws of Blood or Eyemincer)
She reduced several large dogs to pained yelping in her time...being totally of feral breeding stock from the edge of Sydney in the 70s...in a couple of generations in the wild they revert to a wildcat toughness, size and colour to survive......I'd check with the neighbours too.
Fingers crossed

That's an awful thing to discover, David!:(
I'll be wishing that you and Tater get safely reunited really soon!

Not a small thing. I’m sure Tater is family. Prayers are on their way. Good luck in your search.

Hope she gets back to you soon Dave

Praying for Tater’s safe and speedy return, and relief for you from your understandable distress. Cats are extremely resourceful and can also go quite some time without food or water, so try to be patient and don’t give up hope even if several days pass.
Thankyou so much for the well wishes and prayers everyone, I have been periodically going out and calling, and whistling loudly. She comes if I whistle in the house, always with a look of "why are you making that noise human!!? Are you ok!?" Plus tapping a can of food. So far shes still out there, I've not given up hope yet

She looks smart enough to find her way home. Fingers crossed.

I'm with you all the way David. Not a good time to tell my story but we lost our cat out the window one cold spring night last year. I hope you and Tater fare better than me and Lanni :( To be honest our cat was a bit off in the head from enduring a rather abused kitty hood. She was never a completely trusting animal and once she found herself outside, all her bearings were lost no matter my best effort to coax her home.

If Tater has any smarts - her instinct for home and the comfort and security of your relationship will help her find home. All the best brother.

David, I sure hope Tater finds her way home soon. Maybe ask the neighbors to check under their porches and in their garages. Good luck.

David, prayers sent just now !! Check closet too. Mine will get in and I won't see her and shut the door. She can even get in boxes by lifting the lid with her nose  And drawers that get left open. She keeps me on my toes

Thanks,I would have heard her meowing I'm sure, plus she was sitting in another window when I left, I always give her scritches when I leave, and say "See ya later Tater" I'm sure she's in hiding, being a inside cat I'm sure everything is a bit overwhelming in the big world. She's gonna turn up soon

Still no Tater this morning but something ate half of the can of food I put under the front steps. A wild animal woulda eaten all of it, Tater only gets 1/2 can portions, so I'm hopeful it was her. I've left water out to
Do you have a "have-a-heart" trap? Some animal shelters will lend them out. Put it out tonight, and hopefully you can catch her. ( or you will have a new pet possum)
Check with the animal shelters too, in case someone found her and took her there.
I sure hope she comes home soon!

I can sympathize with what you are going through, David.
Two weeks ago my son and his family went for a week to the Jersey shore. They've got 2 dogs that they have to leave at home when they go (it's an annual family get together on my DILs side).

One morning my son Dan calls us, he's totally distraught. They have a gal come to their home 3x a day to take their dogs out to exercise and make sure they have food and water. One of the dogs, Tahoe, didn't come back when called and after an hour the dog sitter called my son.

Dan asked if we'd run over to his house and call for Tahoe and drive around their neighborhood to find him. He knows us, even though he's a very skittish around anyone but his housemates. He's a rescue dog that had been abandoned and abused, and still has a problem warming up to people. After 3 years he finally lets me pet him. We hustled to get out of the house and just as we were about to leave, we got another call. It seems Tahoe had snuck back inside the house, without the sitter noticing. He was upstairs hiding under one of my grandson's beds. Poor pooch was looking for his family, and decided to wait in one of the kids rooms.

Sorry for the long story. Needless to say we all breathed a sigh of relief. I hope you do to, David.
