"Carl's Lounge" (Off-Topic Discussion, Traditional Knife "Tales & Vignettes")

Nearly 50 years ago my family visited my grandpa at his farm, taking our cat with us. When it was time to go home, we couldn't find the cat, so we had to leave him. About 3 months later we returned to Pop's, and still couldn't find the cat. Our aunt lived about 2 miles away in town, and one night I stayed the night at their house, sleeping out in a camper in the back yard with my cousin. About 11 o'clock at night we were playing with flashlights in the camper and heard a cat meowing outside. We looked out, and . . . there was Frisky, our cat! Three months and two miles later, he found me. He was pretty rough looking, but completely healthy and he came right to me.

Do you have a "have-a-heart" trap? Some animal shelters will lend them out. Put it out tonight, and hopefully you can catch her. ( or you will have a new pet possum)
Check with the animal shelters too, in case someone found her and took her there.
I sure hope she comes home soon!
Thank You so much for the reminder, duh I have a trap! I put food under the house behind the front steps last night, something ate only 1/2 by this morning. Well Taters normal portion is 1/2 in the morning 1/2 in the evening, with acces to dry food. A wild animal would have cleaned the can. This evening when I got home the can was empty. I have a sneaking suspicion shes hiding underneath the house. So tonight is plan B

It will either be Tater or another cat, I've also seen fresh cat tracks in the loose sand in my driveway. Hopefully this will work :) still got my hopes up

Well I have a Tater update, heard my bosses dog barking, we're next door neighbors, he was looking toward where I park my truck. Well after scanning the yard to no avail I moved a piece of skirting I took loose from underneath the house. Yep little rascal is under there but wouldn't come to me. Looked a bit scared, maybe it was the dog barking and the bright light. Anyways maybe she'll get hungry enough to venture into the trap.

Hey, good news that she's close by and not hurt.
Now, go sit quietly out on the porch. Not looking her way, just casually eating a tin of sardines... "oh, I'm not gonna grab you...just enjoying these yummy fishy treats...Gotcha!"

Great news David :)

When I was in my late teens, I shared a house with a couple of mates. We had three cats, and lost them all at the same time. Turned out that an old lady up the road had been feeding them a better brand of cat food

Another option:
Go outside with a table and try doing something on it which requires your full attention (reading, writing, drawing, assembling something intricate). The cat will immediately appear to walk all over or sit on whatever you are occupied with.

Ha! It's a good time to practice paracord lanyard weaving. That never fails around my house.
