Happy Winter Solistice folks!
Also celebrating the Great Conjunction, an event during which the two largest planets in our solar system – Jupiter and Saturn – will nearly overlap to form a "double planet."
This particular Great Conjunction only happens once every 800 years. It's also known as the Christmas Star.
The first pic I took on 12/18, the bright spot just left of center is Jupiter and Saturn. The second pic was taken a few minutes ago. It's too cloudy to see the night sky. The image was taken using a cool app, SkyView.

My wife and I had a good time this summer with the star gazing apps on our phones, we saw the Neowise comet and watched two different meteor showers from our driveway :) The Perseids meteor shower sent some fantastic streamers right over our heads :thumbsup:
