Today is a sad Stag Saturday, I just heard the news that our friend and Forum comrade @Half/Stop Ron has died .A great loss to the Forum but a worse loss to his family and actual friends.

Happy Winter Solistice folks!
Also celebrating the Great Conjunction, an event during which the two largest planets in our solar system – Jupiter and Saturn – will nearly overlap to form a "double planet."
This particular Great Conjunction only happens once every 800 years. It's also known as the Christmas Star.
The first pic I took on 12/18, the bright spot just left of center is Jupiter and Saturn. The second pic was taken a few minutes ago. It's too cloudy to see the night sky. The image was taken using a cool app, SkyView.

My wife and I had a good time this summer with the star gazing apps on our phones, we saw the Neowise comet and watched two different meteor showers from our driveway The Perseids meteor shower sent some fantastic streamers right over our heads
