I sometimes think I'm in pretty good shape for my age, but my sense of balance has certainly deteriorated substantially. I used to always take off, and put on, my pants by standing on one leg and lifting the other to pull it out of, or put it into, the appropriate pant leg. Similarly, I always used to put on my socks by standing with sock in hand, lifting a leg, and putting a sock on the raised foot. I still try to dress that way, but there are often lots of "do-overs" necessary because I start tipping over and have to abort the pants or sock attempt, put the raised leg down to keep from falling, and re-start the process. I need some "improve balance exercises" I guess! At my age falling on the ice has its advantages. Or, should I say excuse compared to falling at home.
Don't tip over when you have both feet in one pants leg!I sometimes think I'm in pretty good shape for my age, but my sense of balance has certainly deteriorated substantially. 5K Qs I quit kidding myself about the shape I'm in Gary. After my covid caused stroke left me with neuropathy there was no sense in pretending. I'm just thankful for each new day to enjoy the things I can and the challenges I fight to overcome.
Thanks. The aftereffects were my undoing. I've got to ask ever since I first saw you post Mister Coffee. Joe DiMaggio fan?Joe, I wish you the best. People think that COVID is "no big deal." I wish we could get smart about the facts and the real danger to everyone's health. Take care.

Once we turn into Octogenarians we have to think about the things we should not do that we used to do without thinking .I started thinking I needed “improve balance exercises” when I realized I couldn’t do things which required standing on one foot for more than a second or two any more. Turned out to be peripheral neuropathy (hereditary). More of an irritant than a real problem so far, but I’ve learned to be much more conscious of my balance when doing ordinary tasks (and I don’t walk around on the roof like I used to.)![]()
That won't be so hard for me because I've always been a coward.Once we turn into Octogenarians we have to think about the things we should not do that we used to do without thinking .

From what the doctors told me strokes are common among covid patients. My symptom manifested itself in CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome). I'm still here to see the sun rise every morning which I'm very thankful for. I implore everyone to do everything in their power to do what's necessary for themselves and everyone around them to prevent the spread of this scourge.Joe, if by "aftereffects," you mean Long COVID, you should speak about this. It's a real thing.
I'm a big Joltin' Joe fan. It's a New York thing.![]()
