My comments about Covid and vaccination are in the political forum, where such discussion belongs.

About balance: my mother was having some balance problems (due to normal aging, not any other ailment) and started doing Tai Chi with a class in the neighborhood park. It's helped her quite a bit.

I used to live in apartment complex nearby my current home, and there was a group of maybe 8-10 elderly Chinese (I think) ladies who would do something like Tai Chi out in the parking lot most mornings, but with swords. It must have taken incredible strength and balance, because their movements were so slow and fluid.

Sorry in advance if this inspires anybody to spend money on another bladed implement they didn’t know they wanted…

There's a tai chi form with a straight, narrow sword (ch'ien is the name of the sword), and a pa kua form with the broadsword (dao).

I thought the same, what a bizarre world
Thanks Jack. I'm in pretty good shape. Like most guys my age I've got the typical aches and pains. Not quite as quick and limber as I was (LOL) so other than pain I'm a happy fella. Still lots of knives on the sunrise.
That's a very positive attitude my friend :)

Sometimes, I think I must've been a Sloth in another incarnation....when I was a small kid I never wanted to go to bed too active, but never wanted to get up either :D That's not changed. But getting out of a chair can seem like a major project sometimes:eek: As for socks and trouser legs....er...thinking about reverting to foot-cloths and maybe trying a kilt type of affair;)

Yes Sloths rule 🦥 but even our animals age and slow down. Ageing's inevitable but it's not that welcome, I've known some people who've maintained excellent physical health & prowess into advanced years but their mental landscape was a desert, or others whose minds were sharp but bodies plagued them. Allegedly De Gaulle described old age as a shipwreck....but then, shipwrecks can be fun and adventurous too, enjoy while you can:thumbsup::cool:

I studied Tai Chi and King Fu for more than 15 years. It's good stuff, especially with a good teacher. Tell mom to stay with it.
