"April Showers bring May Flurries ..." at least in S. Central Idaho. ☹️🤬☹️
Oh well. Supposed to be near 70° tomorrow, according to (In)AccuWeather, rather than the 2 or 3° above frozen of this A.M. 😁

I thought it was Wednesday.

I noticed some stains on the blade of my MAM knife this morning, and out of curiosity broke out the yellow mustard. After maybe 30 minutes I got this:

Not sure what type of steel they use beyond “German stainless”, but it’s kind of neat that you can get it to patina (or stain, at least).

^^ Is it me or are the clovers missing a leaf?
Yeah, they're only 3-leaf clovers, but Rough Rider is an economy brand of knife. 😁

Ya gotta turn the horseshoe upside down, Gary. ;)
(Nice green covers!)
Are you messing with my lack of knowledge about superstitions, Vince? 🤓
I'm sure I've always heard that the horseshoe should have the open end up so the good luck doesn't fall out.
Is open-end-down maybe a Texas thing, and if so, what's the rationale??

Just messing with ya, Gary. Years ago, I placed a horseshoe I had found above my office door upside down. People kept telling me that was wrong, but I am not superstitious, and I thought it was funny.

Have a great Friday the 13th!

On Friday the 13th the knights templars and their Grand Master Jacques de Molay were arrested and later burnt. The legend says that at the stake he cursed king Philippe le Bel until the 13th generation.
From the same legend unfortunate King Louis the XVIth is said the 13th generation... 😧

Vince,

I'm very, very, very superstitious. I say "Very" 3 times by superstition.
The first thing i see when opening my front door is a horseshoe nailed to a tree.
Upside up because it only takes one nail. Upside down would take two nails. Well, two nails instead of one isn't a good sign.

Dan.

My dad always hung the horseshoes upside down on the farm above the doorways. The reason being so the luck would fall on you when you walk under it. And the fact I survived to adulthood leads me to believe there's something to it. It probably has more to do with what my mother said. Whenever a boy is born on a farm he's automatically assigned two guardian angels as it's too much work for one.
