The Friday before Christmas is known here as 'Black-Eye Friday' or 'Mad Friday'. Most city centres are decidedly apocalyptic from lunchtime onwards! :D

I went to a beer store to get some Christmas beer when I saw this in a shelf and remembered Jack's pins.

Great stuff! :thumbup: The Hardcore is one of my favourites, particularly on draught. Still got a pin left if you'd like it :)
 
I got up this morning at about quarter past five :eek: (on a sunday :rolleyes: ) because I heard some rumor outside the window of the sleeping room. So I went outside and there was heavy rain. I went behind the house, with a flashlight and saw that the stream near the backdoor of house was already well flooded and with a tendence to rise further.

I took this pics just half an hour ago and the water will rise - and I hope that it will not flood the shag where I store my firewood...

Well... the whole day it was raining heavily. A couple of hours ago the rain stopped and the water seems to go back... I´m pretty happy now not drowning in a lot of water during the Christmas holidays in dirty, cold water :)
 
Hi,

On 24 hour call Christmas Day as primary for the ambulance for the third straight year.:( Wind chills are expected to be in the -20F to -30F range tomorrow. I have this evil feeling I will be working in a ditch sometime tomorrow. I so hope not.

Hi,

Up and at 'em early today. That's OK. I still got Christmas supper to prepare for the invasion later this afternoon.:) Youngest Grandson has been here since Sunday afternoon. The other three will be here later. It will be a raucous day!

It will be a 'traditional' US Norwegian supper with lutefisk, roast pork, potato klub, lefse, krumcakke, gammelost, flat bread and home made candies. All dishes my Grandmother would make for the Holidays. I will eat way too much I fear.
