@ Jack Black...

Jack, got the book today. Thanks so much for the sentimental journey back to some of the classic days of mountaineering and rock climbing. I'll have some fun looking through this primer.:thumbup:

Hi,

We survived Christmas! We got through 2 calls early in the morning and no one else required out services. A good day all told.

There was an ugly incident with the youngest Grandson, (4), a couple of Springers, rope throw toy and a sour cream raisin pie. The dogs and youngest Grandson all survived, (though by the narrowest of margins). There was much finger wagging by Grandma and total banishment for the poor dogs. Sadly, I was unable to revive the pie and it was declared DOS. It had the most beautiful golden meringue.:( Fortunately, there were backups though.

Glad you got it Elliott. I think my favourite sections are the advice on what to wear and the section on rum! :D

I'm not quite sure whether rum makes us more or less fashion conscious or savvy. :p

(I do know that imbibing can make things look better than they do in the light of day. ;))

LOL! :D I think the two things are certainly combined in that wee book! I remember wearing breeches, but I can never remember seeing anyone dressed quite like the author reccomends! :D

Still, good to have a handy reference guide to boot nailing patterns! :D

#74 Cotton Sampler? Coon Skinner? Had no idea what an 06 Pemberton could have referred to, until someone mentioned Pemberton created Coca Cola. Really liking a lot of the new ideas coming out of GEC!

Ladies and Gentleman,

I awoke today of news that my grandfather had a stroke. Far back I had a thread about his Case 62087 that he carried all his life and gave to me when I was a young boy. Many of the friends in here that know me wished I would take it to him and show it to him again. My life has been rough and I lacked in fulfilling the promise I made to myself to take it to him.

I have no time now, but I took a picture as I waited to find where to visit my grandfather today.

Thanks to the people here that actually know me and have been friends through the years.

I hope to be able to show this to him and I am praying for him.

If this is the wrong spot, I apologize. This group is where my friends are.

Kevin

Sorry to hear that, Kevin! :(

This are sad news. I hope and pray for your grandfather´s recovery.

Prayers sent from my part of the world.

My condolences. I'll keep him in my prayers.

My father had a stroke 7 months ago and still hasn't recovered (and probably won't).

I hope everything will be alright brother, my thoughts are with you right now. I know seeing that little beauty again will bring a smile to your Grandfathers face. Email me if you need anything at all.

I too am sad to hear about your Grandfather, Kevin

I too, will say a prayer for him.

Take care, my friend

Sorry to hear that Kevin. Smoke goin up from Oregon...

Thats a great looking knife, and I'm sure he has a lot of memories from his days of carrying it

I'm sorry to hear Kevin, my thoughts will be with you and your Grandfather. My Grandfather had two strokes last year; I took two of his old and fixed them up like he asked, but I don't think I will be able to show him now... Keep that chin up, my friend, I wish for his recovery.

My condolences, Kevin. I remember the thread about that knife and the story behind it.

I hope all works out well. Please let me know if there is anything I can do.

Prayers up for your Grandfather Kevin. Showing him that knife just may cheer him up. Best to him and you and your family.

My prayers for your grandfather, Kevin.

But I am going to move this to the lounge.
