Just to make it clear. I am carrying these knives today.....
So, my 6 year old grandson found this yo-yo when he was nosing around in some old toys we keep for their amusement. I don't remember where it came from or whose it was. Kind of different though. It won't sleep. Can't walk the dog with it. I can go over the falls and around the world though. It's got quite a return on it, due to the spring action. Made in the USA, cool.
Ok, ok it's 18 degrees outside, I'm procrastinating. I need to get out there and fill the bird feeders, before they attack the house!

Very interesting Gary, and a great pair of knives too :)

Gary Peregrin Peregrin if the yo-yo can’t walk the dog it’s probably because the string is wound too tight. Let it unwind and while it’s at the bottom let it spin so the string relaxes. Advice from a 6th grade yo-yo champ. Man, that was a long time ago.
Alan, I will try that, although I think that spring assembly might not allow it to sleep. I'll report back! Yo-yo champ! Very cool! Maybe you should add that to your sig-line! :D ;)

Thanks, Jack! You never know what the grandkids will find! I keep a lock on my knife cabinet and chest!

Peregrin Peregrin , Jack Black Jack Black , true about locking up the knives. As a kid, I used to admire and “play with” my grandparents Opinels, lucky to have all my fingers. Also the card games, slot machines, and Vegas/AC trinkets. Fast forward, I am a knife accumulator and degenerate gambler. Who could have ever predicted - besides everyone?

LOL! :D

Many years ago, I used to carry a small lock-back, which my young daughter was under strict instructions not to touch. I used to put it with my wallet and keys, on a small table, before going to bed. One day, I couldn't find it. I looked under the table, and all the obvious places, but couldn't find it. I asked my daughter if she had moved it, which seemed very unlikely, but she said she hadn't. I was on the verge of replacing the knife, when I dropped something, which rolled underneath a magazine rack/TV stand I had. There was a clearance of about 1/2" between the bottom of the rack and the carpet, so I had to get right down on the ground to fish it back out. Then I saw the blade of my lost knife glistening. My daughter had obviously opened the knife, and being unable to re-close the blade, had hidden the knife. We had to have a talk about honesty after that  Could have been worse of course

I'm sure my parents had to keep their knives hidden. I did find one of my grandfather's while nosing around in a closet one day. I know I put it back where I found it. I kind of wish I'd put it in my pocket instead.
It seems to me it might be kind of hard to avoid gambling, living in Las Vegas!

Sounds like a disaster was avoided! Thankfully!
My 4 year old grandson tapped on my belt sheath the other day, and asked me what is that? I told him it's a knife. His response was, "I thought your knife is in your pocket?" Thankfully the subject changed, but I'll need to explain it next time he asks:D. Maybe I can respond, "your papa is a knife nut, and always has more than one knife with him."

That’s cool, Gary. Yo-yos had a big resurgence for a year or two when I was in junior high (late ‘90s), and Yomega was the brand to have. I think that’s an early version of a model they still make called The Brain. It should sleep, but that spring assembly is what they call a centrifugal clutch that causes it to return automatically when it spins under a certain RPM.

I never had one of those with the clutch/auto-return, but I wonder if maybe it could be stuck closed, causing it not to sleep.

Definitely! 😯 LOL! My maternal grandfather used to give me lots of knives, but most of them were military clasp knives, with the most brutal springs! 😱 He once showed me a Luger he had brought back from WW2, along with a switchblade, which my mother told me he had taken off a feller in a fight some years after the war ended! 😱👍

Awesome, Barrett! I unwound the string some, and it'll sleep and walk the dog now. Not sure about the Brain though. It does return but it needs a little jerk on the string. I'll fiddle with it some more later. My wife is giving me some strange looks! 🤣

Me too I have always kept them locked up since the kids were little, made the wife happy. Although my youngest was curious, when I got a new delivery she had to open it & have a look. I would have to sit with her & show whether it had a lock or not & how it worked. The good old days now I am lucky to get 3 words a day that she is going on 17😒😊
