A belated Happy Canada Day to our northern friends. I worked yesterday and then had a sick grandchild to attend in the evening, so never got on BFC.

I remember in 2017, when I was preparing to ship out the Guardian's Lambsfoot SFO, all but one of the Canadians remembered to include the name of their country in their address. One of the Americans remembered to do the same

It is. So is Mexico.
Residents of Canada are "Canadians".
Residents of Mexico are "Mexicans".
But residents of the USA are just known as "Americans". It confuses things in various people's heads.
The alternative, I suppose, would be to call residents of the US, "Statesians". Think I'll go with what we got today.

Technically, or perhaps pedantically, everybody in North, Central and South America could be considered "Americans". If one says, "American" in most of the world they mean us USA-ians. It most likely came to this because we're the only ones with "America" in our name. AFAIK (too lazy to actually research it).

I can't find the old thread on making hiking sticks, and I didn't do much whittling here, so...
The other fork of a piece of oak from my brother's driveway a few years ago wasn't long enough to be a hiking staff per se, and I didn't want to shorten it by cutting off these knots.

So enter my "Adapt-a-hitch" 1 & 7/8" ball.

It's decorative, cool and smooth to lean on, and puts the balance one third back from the head.
