"Carl's Lounge" (Off-Topic Discussion, Traditional Knife "Tales & Vignettes")

I can't find the old thread on making hiking sticks, and I didn't do much whittling here, so...
The other fork of a piece of oak from my brother's driveway a few years ago wasn't long enough to be a hiking staff per se, and I didn't want to shorten it by cutting off these knots.

It's decorative, cool and smooth to lean on, and puts the balance one third back from the head.
Nice 1😊
Maybe give it a sand? Any bark edges might get uncomfortable after awhile.

What is the history of Camillus?

Founded on March 8, 1799, the Town of Camillus is named after the Roman general Marcus Furius Camillus and is the only Town in the United States to bear that name. The Town of Camillus occupies nearly 35 square miles of land, which includes Fairmount, Amboy-Belle Isle, Warners, and the Village of Camillus.

I agree!
My oldest son is a Camillus resident. Now, the question becomes, what do you call a person who lives in Camillus? Camilluburger? Camillonian? Camiller? This could go on and on..........

well, i'll be darned, thats gotta be the most interesting piece of trivia ive seen lately!
