I started losing friends about 20 years ago. Much worse than losing public figures.

Did some weeding in the back yard today. Stickery things with long tap roots that went way deep. I could almost hear Yosemite Sam's voice sayin, "Great Horny Toadies. Them roots go all the way to China." I was forced to pull out the "So-Cal Weeder". What's that, you say?

It doesn't get any better. Between 2006 and 2013, I lost almost all my old friends. Only a few left. Its the big bittersweet penalty we pay for having a long life beyond the average expiration date. By the time you reach octogenarian stage, you have very few friends left.
 
I was looking up a small Case knife on the big river site last night and the price was listed as follows:

$72.99 ($50.69/oz)

I don't remember seeing knives priced by the ounce before. Comes to $811.04/lb. For that kind of money I could buy ground round.

Ain't that the truth and my doctor last told me that I was in pretty good shape considering everything .

mrknife mrknife : When I was a younger guy , I never thought I would live past 60 . People back then mostly died of Old Age . Now most have a reason . Well we have been married for over 60 years . I think that is probably caused by all the preservatives they now put into everything ?????? LOL
