We have two black snakes in PA, the Northern Black Racer, and the Eastern Ratsnake. We pretty much just call them both black snakes, but the ones shown here are Ratsnakes. The only way I can tell the difference is Ratsnakes can grow up to 8' long, while the Black Racer is only 3-5'.
