Thanks fellas. I wanted to post a few things but just didn’t feel it. I’m glad Alan posted
Reading everyone’s posts and talking helps a little for me I’m very emotional
I wanted to post on the French Friday thread I have both sizes of Liadou and corkscrew model too but it just didn’t happen.
With the handmade slipjoint market being slow during our uncertain times ( consider silver and gold prices as an indicator ), the small handful of makers I work with have slowed a bit , sending their work.
But in the near future I’ll have some nice stuff to show and offer. I hope I have the strength and courage to continue with the knives. I love the community of . Its enjoyment in many ways for me
Thanks Alan this is a tough one

Anyone know what happened to SunnyD?As long as we are on the subject, and in the same spirit that TCM has at the end of each year when they show all the people who have passed, I looked at some old posts and have a long list of folks who have not been seen here for at least a year, some over ten years. I know some of them have been called home, while most have stepped away for one reason or another. In remembrance of porch members we miss:

Agree, except that for me I start pacing as soon as I click "Buy".The three favorite words on BladeForums is “out for delivery.” The wait begins. When I lived in NY I had my mailman’s phone number and would just go meet him on his route.
That big river site has us spoiled with one or two day delivery. Everything else seems like it takes forever to get here. And we can even track our items now.Agree, except that for me I start pacing as soon as I click "Buy".
The common theme around our neck of the woods is "out for delivery "every day for 4-5-6 days, and then finally on Sunday everything in one big dropoff gets dumped at a random house on our road. Luckily us and all the neighbors know each other, and are trustworthy. We re-divy out the packages to the correct addresses, and file complaints with the Post Office or Amazon, but it doesn't seem to change much. That big river site has us spoiled with one or two day delivery. We already forgot that it wasn't too long ago that we had to tear an order form out of a catalog, fill it out, and mail it in, along with a check. Then I had a four to six week wait for the item to arrive.
I hear complaints about USPS all the time, but around here, they've always been really good with package delivery. Amazon orders used to come by the Post Office, or UPS, but Amazon just started delivering in this area a couple months ago, and they're pretty bad.The common theme around our neck of the woods is "out for delivery "every day for 4-5-6 days, and then finally on Sunday everything in one big dropoff gets dumped at a random house on our road. Ha! That’s funny. I used to chase our mailman down on my lunch breaks because he was always somewhere in our neighborhood when I took lunch. The three favorite words on BladeForums is “out for delivery.” The wait begins.
