@VCM3 Difficult decision Vince but I believe you made the right choice. Douk-Douks, like many French knives are relatively easy to open but strongly sprung and hard to shut. Also they're slim-which I like but it may not afford good grip for an eldery or inexperienced handler...potential for injury. Then some busybody type at the facility could get triggered by all this and a crisis unfolds. Nobody needs that. No need to feel terrible, your intentions & motives are all good. I send you power and respect.
