Good job you just keep Strangler snakes meako meako ;) Mind you, I can imagine they can give out a hefty bite too by the look of that video. The idea of venomous snakes is a different matter :poop:

Here's a shocking article about the death of a Nigerian pop singer. She was killed in her sleep by a snakebite and in the capital city in an apartment block o_O

Will Power Will Power Will he's struck me a couple of times...and once latched on to my hand....imagine snapping your hand in a rat trap( who hasn't?)...but with razors glued to it...and it chomps on you...The power is explosive . He got a coil round my neck once too...not fun.
A recent escape...prompted a visit ti the vet for a check up..mainly any ticks or mites he might have picked up in the garden....definitely a two person operation...😃

I think snakes are cool, but do they make good pets? Like, does he ever interact with you in a friendly way?

I used to handle my neighbor's pet snakes when I was a boy. And I kept goldfish. I would set them as roughly equivalent. The fish were prettier to look at, the snakes were more fun to handle, but neither showed any particular affinity for any interaction. I do think the snakes realized that the humans did not intend to hurt them. Goldfish never figured that out.

Rachel I wouldnt say friendly...he barely tolerates being handled...the battle is getting him out of his enclosure..usually by opening the glass and letting him make his own way...then grabbing him....once this is achieved avoiding those lightning strikes...I take him outside for a spell in the garden...I know for a fact he got out of the cage one night...I left the glass slightly open...and by morning had gone back in....

Mind if I ask why do you even have him as a pet while he wants to crush you each and every time?

Alex he was handed in from an illegal collection after a drug raid on a house near Wollongong. The Illawarra Reptile Society finds new homes for many such "foster children" ..they simply can't go back into the wild. There were 5 pythons seized...3 of which were euthanased due to being in very poor health...lung disease from bad husbandry...I had a Spotted Python which now resides with my son and also a Coastal which sadly died...that one was an escaped pet found in a park in Sydney.....owners who let their snake go walkies usually lose them.
Interestingly an unrelated drug raid years later bagged a young Saltwater Croc...in a backyard with a bathtub to swim in....it seems druggos like big dangerous things😅
