"Carl's Lounge" (Off-Topic Discussion, Traditional Knife "Tales & Vignettes")

I am sorry for your loss Jack. That seems to be a family trait at our funerals, get together, down a few cups of coffee and some beer, and tell stories about the deceased. "Re-meet" family members, if you will. It was a good thing that you could tell the next generation about his uncle, and great that he heard good things about him from a family friend.

Many thanks for your kind words gents, they're greatly appreciated.

Hope that our Traditional family members in the Boston area are okay during this manhunt. Prayers and good thoughts on the way for you.

My thoughts are with those not only in Boston, but the residents of West.

I've studied the effects and impacts that such devastating incidents have had in the past. Its been tricky to find good information over here, but I can only hope that those caught close to the epicenter, yet to be found, survive to be rescued.

My thoughts and prayers are also with all who are suffering in Boston and in Texas.

I just got my letter and I did not get the job I interviewed for. Back to the ol' drawing board. Thanks again for all of your thoughts and well wishes.

Have a great day,
Jeff

Jeff, I'm sorry you did not get the job, so, I will continue that you find the work you want soon. I have been on your side of employment (i.e., no employment) and it's not fun. Don't give up; it's out there and if you keep looking you will find it.

Ed J

Sorry to hear about the job, Jeff.

I´m pretty sure, you´ll get another chance soon and then finaly the job you are searching.

Welcome to BF, this isn't the subforum for a Spyderco Kris, but you might want to post a WTB thread in the Exchange. We also don't have any giveaways in this particular thread.

Sit back, take a look at some of the knives, and prop your feet up. You might find something else besides a Kris, but, nothing wrong with that either.

I didn't expect anything else from the TSA (or any other alphabet soup department)...the only times I've gotten so wound up by an official agency to the point I was almost arrested (in LAX) was dealing with TSA agents. I can be a bear with a thorn in his paw running on no sleep for over 25 hours on cross continental trips with multiple country layovers.

That said I have flown, got to my destination then realized I had a small knife in my wallet and had a mini-heart attack. :D

Well, I guess the folks who sit around sorting stolen pocket knives into boxes of similar items must have all gotten together and protested their layoffs.....:grumpy:

I don't want to get too political, but that's probably the most illogical, emotionally based resolution I've seen, let's not take into consideration the reinforced cockpit door, potential flight marshals on high risk flights, as well as a frightening trend among terrorist to gravitate towards explosives, that's enough for me...... I'm not flying if I have my way, so all is well for me, but I feel for the traveling knife enthusiast. Hope it's postponed for a later date, and not snuffed out for good.
