"Carl's Lounge" (Off-Topic Discussion, Traditional Knife "Tales & Vignettes")

Excellent! Andi. Warmest congratulations!

Andi,
congratulations!!! Remember, we will be your child's "bladefathers" ;)

Carl,
Andi did pop a Champagne cork...about 7 months ago :D

Dan,
honestly...Florida is a nice place from many points of view, and it's great for me to spend some holidays here. But,on a pure "seaside" thing, I'm not even comparing FL to my own island, it would be absolutely unfair. I might go the the beach this weekend, but I won't be looking for a wonderful beach; I will be looking for a wonderful time there, and that's why I will get it :Y
Then, when I get back home, I will bring my camera to a couple beaches of my own island, and then we'll talk about beautiful seaside places...

Congratulations to you Andi and your lovely wife. Just remember any man can be a father but it takes some one special to be a Dad.I think you will do great.

Stan

Congratulations again Andi, to you and the missus, it's wonderful news my friend :)

Jack

We (my wife and I) will have a baby in a couple of months.

I´m really very excited and I think this will be the greatest challenge in my life I´ve handled until now. But I´m propably the happiest man on Earth. :) :)

Most excellent, Andi! As an American with a strong dose of German blood, I can testify that they're great people -- and getting one more (who's budding knife knut to boot!) will be a good thing for the world. And certainly for your family! :)

Alright Ladies & Gentlemen,

I need to tell you some news from my own personal side... Some of you guys & gals almost know it, but now I think the time has come to tell.

We (my wife and I) will have a baby in a couple of months.

I´m really very excited and I think this will be the greatest challenge in my life I´ve handled until now. But I´m propably the happiest man on Earth. :) :)

Congratulations Andi!
Give yourself a great big pat on the back and give your wife whatever she asks for, she has serious work ahead!
I'm happy for you, you deserve to be proud of yourselves.

Paul

Thanks for the kind and very heartwarming words, fellows.

I´m looking forward to see what will come and what future will bring...

I really hope to manage this challange... but I always see that there are worse people than I am gonna be good parents, so I think we will handle this. :)

Congrats, Andi! That's great news; Katie and I are very excited for you. As first-time expecting parents ourselves, we understand how excited you are!

If we ever get to Germany (or if you're ever in Ohio), our kids can have some adventures, you and I can play with knives, and our wives can roll their eyes at us. :D

Congrats again, dad!

That's exactly what I keep telling Katie when she gets nervous about the baby. Hey, we've got this!

-Dan

Parenthood is something I think everyone finds daunting, but most manage successfully. It certainly changes your life :)

Andi, you'll really be doing the polka when the youngster starts crying at 3:00 in the morning!

Congratulations, God's blessings, and have fun with all the crazyness!!

Congratulations Andi and Dan!

Headed to Jon Christensen's M.S. on Monday to start an exciting project, damascus bladed, takedown, interframe lockback. We will be going over a few design elements, then forge the blade billet the rest of the day, I am REALLY excited for this one. I am also working on a Bill Burke M.S. and Enrique Pena collaboration, it will be awesome. Have a great weekend everyone.

Kris

This was my grandfather's knife. Many of you that know me remember my recent stories of him and this knife. Yesterday he died. This knife just went from something that reminds me of him that I carry to the only thing I really have that was his. Its funny how in a flash a 'thing' can become so powerful.

You have my deepest sympathies Kevin. I'll keep your Grandfather and your family in my prayers.

Very sorry for your loss, Kevin, you'll be in our prayers. I've posted photos before of my grandfather's Schrade and it's definitely the pride of my collection. Keep his knife close, use it, and honor his memory.

They sound like some exciting projects Kris.
Best of luck with them!
