"Carl's Lounge" (Off-Topic Discussion, Traditional Knife "Tales & Vignettes")

Just as we were getting ready to jump in the Explorer to head home....

Wait, is this all just a thinly-disguised, feel-good Ford commercial?

:p

Promising news indeed, Elliott!

... She's prettier every time I look. What a beautiful coat and countenance.

(I also like the book in the background, Blues Who's Who-- so that's how you do it!)

...Please spare a good thought that Skyler will find a forever home with us. She's bonded to us as we have to her and if she will tolerate the occasional crating she will have to endure, she should have a loving home for the rest of her days if we have anything to say about it. (And thanks in advance for those good thoughts.)

All my (continued) best, Elliott, to you and yours, in all hope that Skyler remains included in the "yours" (and you, hers).

Good luck, Elliott!!!!

She's a beautiful girl, and I hope you and your wife have a very very long and loving relationship with this gorgeous animal. There's no describing what a dog brings into your life.:thumbup::thumbup:

Carl.

Thanks, Sarah. Your words are always poignant.

Carl, you're so right. Even in three short days this little creature has made her presence felt.

Thanks to you both.

Wishing you and Skyler the best, Elliott.

My family had boxers when I was a boy and any boxer has my instant attention. They are sweet tempered, gentle with children, devoted, protective of their family (that would now be you), and their eyes combined with those wrinkles are amazingly expressive. High energy, yet surprisingly mellow. Having been bred originally for boar hunting, they have a love for pork.

You would have my best wishes no matter which dog you picked. It's just that they are all the more fervent with you having picked a boxer.

All the best with your new mate there Elliot, she'll be an integral part of your family in no time soon.

Kris,.

Thanks Frank, Kris. She's laying on the couch behind me relaxing as I type these words. She's a sweet and lovable creature, I'll say that for her...though she gave some imaginary or perceived foe out the window what for a little while back. Had us cracking up.

She had her first "accident" early this morning (after three perfect nights) but since it was about 8 hours after our "late" walk, and my wife had gotten up to go to the bathroom which probably woke her, I can't kick. I actually think she had tried to alert me by licking my face while I was lying in bed but I took it as her just being affectionate after the prior uneventful evenings. Now I'll be more on alert just in case.

Since I didn't catch her in the act until a few moments afterward, I didn't say anything to her. Just took her outside for a walk.

So far, she's coming along quite nicely and we thank you all for the good wishes on her and our behalf.

Heyyyy, congrats Elliott! She's a cutie alright! Hope everything works out, and that you become fast friends.

Elliot, she's gorgeous. The bond will form, as you know it takes time and effort, but I'm sure it'll be a reciprocal relationship. Regards to the family.

Paul

Beautiful pup, happy for you!

As a kid we had boxers in the house and my parents still do. They are beyond lovable and highly family oriented.

Appreciate all the good words. It took me a long time to warm up to Boxers, I think it's because as a small boy I was bit by one on the right wrist. It looked much worse than it was but it left a small scar both physically and emotionally at the time. Over the years I worked with some guys that had them and loved them and now I can begin to see why.

It wasn't called Tyson was it? ;)

Hope it works out Elliott, she looks a lovely pup

It was well before (that other boxer) Tyson was a gleam in his father's eye. Thanks, Jack.

Hey folks,

I was just reading an old thread, and got to wondering what had happened to Paul Bosley. He used to post regularly here, but then had some health problems. Has anyone heard from him?

Jack

Here's hoping that all our UK folks have their hatches battened. I hear there's an uber nasty storm headed their way.
