Thanks, Ed. I've been using and swearing by several Kong products for the last 10 years or so. Skyler seems to love 'em so far along with the Nylabone products we use (durable version).

Good question, Kris...I think equal amounts of each with just a pinch of luck thrown in for good measure. Thanks to you all for the well wishes. I've got to call the Humane Society to let them know its official in a few minutes.
 
I can't find the pic, but I saw one on Facebook that seems appropos. In a cartoon, a man is sitting in his recliner day dreaming and asks aloud I wonder what it would feel like to win the lottery. The dog, sleeping on his cot, thinks "It must feel like when I was adopted."
