"Carl's Lounge" (Off-Topic Discussion, Traditional Knife "Tales & Vignettes")

Glad your feelin better Dan, my youngest Gage (21 yrs) had a bad flu bug last week that laid him up for a bit also.

Gage was in the 90th percentile as well, he's now 6ft 5" and won't disclose his weight but I'm sure he's got me by 50lbs and I weigh in at 240:o

Our eldest Beau (26 yrs) was in the 10th percentile:eek: He's a bit smaller than Gage:)

Nice going Meako and Jack. We always need more Santas - except here!!
They had a huge SantaCon here (Santa Convention!!)!
Hundreds of 'em on a night long Pub crawl. Sorry, no pics. My son and his woman, both dressed in Red, said it was great!

Glad you are mending, Dan!

Charlie-Wollongong has a massive University. They have "the santa claus pub crawl" which raises money for charity.
Its great fun til you need a cab home at the same time as everyone else.
Then there is the walk of shame Sunday morning. The trail home strewn with discarded santa clothes.
I have been santa for 3 years now and what I ALWAYS notice, sadly,is the number of other dads who are more err shall we say "santa shaped" than I am.
Cheers.

Glad you're recovered Dan, and good to see you here. Glad to hear your long girl didn't catch it :) Hope Gage is better now Paul

I've been having an annual flu vaccination for about seven years now, and I can't reccomend it highly enough

Thanks everyone!

We feel very fortunate to be blessed with such a beautiful and healthy wee lad. Thank you all so much for the support and wisdom over the last nine months.

Random fact: Rory is the 171st baby born in the Hebrides this year.

:)

Bit late but congrats Paul.
Enjoy 'cause they grow up fast.

I picked up this old magazine yesterday. It has some great content, from the editorial decrying the introduction of traffic lights for causing traffic congestion, to the fantastic old adverts :)

That's cool Jack. Really speaks to me, At 54 years old I'm the third generation in my family involved in the imported (Imported for us in the U.S. that is) auto repair business.

Mark

Thanks Mark, excellent  I did a year of a mechanic's apprenticeship when I first left school in 1977. Looking through the magazine, the engines don't look so different, but when I see an auto engine now, I sometimes wonder what I'm looking at! :D

Very true, some engines have no method of checking the oil other than an onboard sensor. Troubling for an old guy :)

With regard to my comment about "santa shaped" dads -
I meant it is a bit disappointing that they never seem to volunteer for the job.

I will find the link tomorrow.

You and I must be near the same age, I got out of school in 77. Steven
