God bless you my town last year gave away gift cards to Dunkin donuts for doing that 10 dollars a hydrant

Gary or Frank, I see that KJ was banned for "improper return".
Is there such a thing as a proper return?
I would like to alleviate Duncan's worries and my own. If we need to discuss this elsewhere, please direct us!

There is such a thing as a "proper return".
There are some members who have been banned and have returned legally.
You have a PM.

After about 30 hours it finally quit snowing here. Crisp clear starlit sky now with about 2 feet of snow on the ground. Was bad enough for the last two nights my wife's hospital put all of the nurses of both shifts in a hotel about a 1/2 mile from the hospital. She'll be home tonight.

ah nice of your wife's hospital. the hospital i work for is massive, so they provided mattresses/linen, personal supplies and stuff for all hospital personnel. just had to find a place to kip for the night but good thing i didnt have to be there :D only essential personnel

Yea the sun's out! I slid the back door open and snapped a few pictures from the dining room. Snow is pretty but I'm ready for it to go away.

It's a small 54 bed rehab hospital across the street from the main hospital. Have no idea what the main hospital did for the patient care staff.

Anywho, our driveway is now clear and the mailman can get to the mailbox tomorrow. Same with several neighbors --- many hands make light work. After his effort I treated my son to a Chinese meal. The restaurant didn't open the buffet today but served off the menus. Just the two of os and one other in the restaurant. No church crowd since all the local churches cancelled services today.

My back and thighs will be sore tomorrow.

Banning - or people being banned?

Check the monthly log.

Duncan, thanks for asking the question. I had wondered the same thing, but didn't know where/how to ask. Usually I can look up a person's recent posts and get an idea, in this case I couldn't figure it out.

Frank, thanks for posting that link. I didn't know that such a log existed, and now I don't have to worry about such questions in the future. :thumbup:

Spark recommends Imgur, but doesn't really suit me. I'm currently trying Google, upload times are certainly faster, but I dislike the increasing Googlization of my life! :rolleyes:

Flickr, while having its occasional glitches, seems to be usable for most forum-related image archive and hosting. The app offers automatic upload of phone photos, acting as a cloud backup of the camera roll, offers decent basic image editing/cleanup tools (though those are refusing to save 95% of the time for the last day and nobody acknowledged my tweet about it :grumpy:), it has easy but effective security controls (and defaults to private all the time), and even gives you BBcode formatted for direct pasting into a forum such as BF. I haven't bumped up against the storage limit yet so I don't know it offhand but it took my phone and tablet without so much as a warning.

It's not Google, but it was acquired by Yahoo after it developed a user base, so perhaps it's more of a question of "the devil you know slightly better". :p I've had a good enough experience with it to date, even if they need to fix their image editor integration tout de suite! :o

If you do have a question, you can always contact Gary or I via VM, PM, or email. We may not respond immediately, but we will respond, even if the answer is, "We don't know."

Looks like the image editing functionality on Flickr has been fixed (so far so good, knock wood :p). If Photobucket is still down you have to wonder how viable they'll be long-term with all these conglomerates buying up image hosts and adding functions by the week. Frankly I couldn't tell you the last time I logged into my PB account...

Edit: I spoke too soon. Flickr's image editing is still hit-and-miss, mostly miss. It's more difficult to effectively use as auto-backup for a phone camera when you can't touch up images online, for sure. I may tweet at them again to fix it but at this point I'm not really holding my breath. :rolleyes:

Well it's the night of the 25th January. That might not mean much to some of you but it's important to me.

I sat in my wee cottage with my wife, two dogs and my wee ballach, rain pounding on the south side, the woodstove lit, eating neeps, tatties and haggis, drinking ale and whiskey. So I say to you this;

Some hae meat and canna eat,
And some wad eat that want it;
But we hae meat, and we can eat,
Sae let the Lord be thankit.

It's good to be back.
Paul :)
