"Carl's Lounge" (Off-Topic Discussion, Traditional Knife "Tales & Vignettes")

Keepin' you and Buddy Boy in my thoughts tonight, Paul! Hope you are hangin' in there!

Here's a little something to cheer you up. My wife asked me to help with a project today, she called it a "dad board". It was a big hit with Noah! :)

Awesome job on that, Phil. We call those activity boards. They are perfect for little guys like yours. The only problem is that it will teach him how to unlock doors and before you know it you'll be doing dishes and hear that front door open and close and realize that he may have decided to run out for chocolate bars without clearing it with you. :(

That's what my daughter learned from hers anyways. We had to put a lock up high on the front door so that she couldn't reach it even if she pulled her little chair over.

LOL Thanks Cory I didn't even think of that! He's a clever little guy so I think I'm in for it one way or another.

Wonderful picture of Noah Phil, thank you for the kind thoughts and the fantastic pick me up. Noah is totally immersed in that board:cool::D:thumbup:

Phil that's a splendid idea for a young rounder and your youngster seems as happy as can be and I might add a fine looking young man. Unfortunately all my grandchildren have passed an age that this would intrigue them as the youngest is now 6 soon to be seven. But there is a fine young family that lives in our neighborhood that has a boy that's two his name is Jackson that I feel compelled to build one for.

Yeah Philll.that is a cool play board.
Hands on ,get the mind working.
Brilliant. He looks fully engaged and having fun too.
I see too many infants with smartphones and tablets.
We had a birthday party for SWMBO recently and one of her friends 3yo son was getting bored.I took him away from his mum and sat in the loungeroom with him in a sea of Lego. We made a great semi trailer with doors and everything. Priceless. He was in heaven just brumming it round the roads through the Lego on the floor.Even the super fire engine from up on the bookcase wasn't good as the truck we made.:)

We used to have something like that, I think it was called a "busy board" They were all plastic, with dials to spin, and levers to flip, etc. I like the homemade one better.

Thanks y'all!

His 1st birthday is coming up later this month and our theme for the party is going to be balloons. He loves the things, totally enamored, can't get enough of 'em. We can't take him to the grocery store without getting him one. We're gonna fill up his whole play room with balloons, floor and ceiling. I can't wait to see his reaction.

Intuitive

1. known automatically: known directly and instinctively, without being discovered or consciously perceived
2. knowing by instinct: knowing things instinctively

That's what they (whoever they are) say about these new Android tablets/phones and new OS'. All it says to me is that evidently, I am not an intuitive person.

They sold me a new tablet and only when I got it home did I find out that I had to be intuitive in order to use it. I guess I'll have to wait for my niece to come out from town to show me what to do with it. Until then, I'll just keep tapping different keys here and there just to see what happens.

I always found that reading the manual helped me become more intuitive.

Well now, that is a problem in itself as the "Get Started Guide" can't be read even with a magnifying glass. I'll just keep tapping here and there until my niece shows up.

I empathise Ed, I'm still trying to figure out the VCR! :grumpy:

Don't feel bad Ed, I'm fighting with a new tablet myself today.
