My son-in-law Chris had a stroke this morning and is in the hospital. They said it is not life threatening however he has had some damage...lot and I don't I know if that caused it but if any of you do smoke please at least consider quitting it's just not worth the risk. (Papaw advice coming out)

sorry to hear about that Randy. Hopefully they caught it in time, and made all efforts to prevent further damage. every hospital has their own stroke protocol, and he probably got a head CT as soon as they can rush it. A combination of things couldve caused it but yes, smoking is a big one

My son-in-law Chris had a stroke this morning and is in the hospital. They said it is not life threatening however he has had some damage to his right side but they won't know to what extent for a while. He is only 41 that and to me that seems very young for something like this to happen I guess you never know what a new day will bring. I was getting ready to leave town for a few day's and just glad that I had not left yet as I am watching their two girls 10 and 7. He smokes a lot and I don't I know if that caused it but if any of you do smoke please at least consider quitting it's just not worth the risk. (Papaw advice coming out)

I'm really sorry to hear this, Randy. That's way too young for a health issue like that. I guess sometime we need reminders to make us realize how both precious and fragile life is. Praying for your family.

Sorry to hear this Randy, glad your able to be with the girls and its not life threatening. A scary reminder that we never know if we are coming home at the end of the day:o

I pray for a speedy recovery and as you made mention, maybe a strong nudge to quit smoking:thumbup:

Randy that's awful news, I'll have your family in my prayers - I hope he makes a swift and full recovery.

thanks! at the moment i am undecided. might just leave it blank. i could always put my school since i inherited no coat of arms or anything cool like that. try to get back into it! its very relaxing

Hey Mr knife, what's your surname/family name? There is usually some coa or emblem or such that can be traced from a name...

Sorry to hear about your son-in-law, Randy; that must be quite a shock, given his age!
I'll certainly keep Chris, you and the rest of his family, and his medical care providers in my prayers.
Too bad that you won't be able to make it to Gatlinburg this weekend, but it's kind of "providential" that you can take care of your young granddaughters while their parents are dealing with all of the hospital stuff.

Very sad news Randy. Lest' hope this is just a warning. He is young and should recover soon, with the help of good doctors, and I'm sure they are.

I tried that once and asked my dad. We go back to some farm village in the 1800s in the back woods of China

Randy, thanks for the advice and warning. You may never know just how much good you did with that announcement. So sorry to hear about your son-in-law. Much too young. Praying he makes a full recovery.

Doesn't that make it easier? A Chinese character or combination of characters? I bet you could even get someone who engraves Chinese stone seals to carve it for you if you don't feel comfortable with the characters.
