Rick is spot on about this place being just as much of the hobby as the knives. The community on The Porch has turned me off of all other message boards. Nothing compares to this place, and you are a part of the reason for it, Alan. All the best to you and yours.
 
They're good people here, definitely enjoy logging in every morning at work and just catching up and seeing the familiar names.
 
Going gold and starting up chatting and trading with people here has definitely been a big improvement in my life. Welcome to the club :)

Alan this place is totally addictive. I belong to another knife forum and may log into it once a month or so and post far less. Here I feel like I'm hanging out with my friends not to mention I am constantly learning. I spend substantial time on here most everyday and really enjoy it. Congrats on the gold and happy birthday to your son.
 
Thank you everyone, Happy New Year to all those celebrating and now that I have a paid membership I no longer feel like a voyeur. And, now I have to figure out how to get to the Rendevous next year.
