Obviously if they'd typed in my name it would have been a less secret agency. I guess I can tell you now I was Section 1, Number 3.

Very Kool:cool::thumbup:

As a kid I had an alleged UNCLE gun. A Broomhandle Mauser, was crazy about it, then it got stolen....it's still out there, somewhere :D

Thanks, Will

Me too, the model car too :) The Man From Uncle was shown on a Thursday evening here, and I was allowed to sneak downstairs to watch it with the grown-ups. The difficult part was the squeaky floorboard outside my younger sister's bedroom! :D

Smoke raised for New Zealand.
7.8 is a big'un.

Be careful out there, Duncan.

I remember Man From Uncle. My best friend had one of those Ideal toy guns.
I'm sorry to hear of Robert Vaughn's passing.
But am glad Illya is still going strong on NCIS.

I've not been paying attention as I should to happenings in this thread. :( Sorry about that, Chief! ;)

Italy's taking a lot of crap lately. Good luck and rapid recovery to our members there. And to the non-knifenuts there too, come to that.
Just about to board my plane to head into what seems a wartime. NZ has been hit by Earthquakes- Wellington and Christchurch - thankfully my youngest daughter is up in Auckland from Wellington right now. I on the other hand - I'm flying into Christchurch - I am amazed the flights are still going!

The worst hit is just north of Christchurch.
Have a good day folks 😄
These seismic events can be so devastating. My prayers go out for all those affected, directly or indirectly, in Italy and New Zealand. Be careful out there, Duncan.

...
I'm appearing on stage in a community theatre version of get smart . Its a new adventure for me and having fun.
I know you will all wish me to 'break a leg'.
Cheers.
What role do you play, meako - title character? Is there a Barbara Feldonesque Agent 99 who'd have fueled all my adolescent fantasies?

I'm astonished at the well wishes and prayers sent by everybody - thank you all so much.

Claire and Baby are ok. I'll not go into details but Claire is home and under strict instructions to take it easy from now on. Baby is due mid December so until then Claire's mother is going to come over from Belfast assist with Rory, and prevent Claire from doing things that she shouldn't be which is how she got into bother in the first place! She is one of those 'have to be doing something' types and taking it easy just doesn't come naturally to her.
...
Paul
Thanks for the great news, Paul, that all are OK, relatively speaking. I hope Claire and baby can get to full term with no further glitches!:thumbup:

Didn't want to dilute my previous post. I'm on bedrest myself for the next couple of days. Just had a kidney stone removed earlier today. Not as painful as the two I passed "naturally" last year, but… Ouch! Not sure which is worse, the post-procedure pain or the bedrest. I, too, like to be up and doing things just as you described Claire to be, and the bedrest is already wearing on me. Hope Claire weathers well her much longer time.
Get well soon, Robb! I wouldn't wish kidney stones even on politicians, and you've had more than your share already! Did anyone else hear a recent news story about a doctor who's been having success with kidney stone patients riding rollercoasters to induce passing the stones?

...
The last few weeks have been crazy here, but Im forced to slow down for the next few days as I got the big snip yesterday.
More reproductive (or rather, anti-reproductive) procedures!! Hope you're up and around ASAP, Brett!! ;)

Last spring there were doctors advertising March Madness specials. Guys could schedule their procedure to coincide with basketball playoffs. "Doctor's orders, Dear, I'm required to lie on the couch and watch sports all week." :D
Brilliant! :D Timing is everything!

Do you know if Napoleon Solo was an ancestor of Han Solo??
Was "Get Smart" a direct satire of "Man from UNCLE"?
Which came first, "I Spy" or "UNCLE"?

According to one of the bios I read, the name "Napoleon Solo" was the brainchild of Ian Fleming. He was a consultant early on in the show.

"Get Smart" was a parody of the high tech spy genre, including "James Bond" and "Man from Uncle."
"Man From Uncle" came before "I Spy".

Hey, be safe Duncan, I hope Sue and kids are all safe as well? If it's you versus an earthquake, I pity the earthquake;)

Been in touch with my son in Wellington and his job site is shut down -he said there was a lot of rubble and broken glass in the city.
Just take care and be safe mate.

stay safe Duncan! my brother is currently in Australia traveling and I just checked in with him

Australia is not usually bothered by earthquakes being much more ancient and stable than the shaky isles of NZ perched on the pacific rim and still many active volcanos. We just cop the bushfires ,floods, droughts and 8 of the 15 most venoumous landsnakes in the world plus the worlds deadliest spider. :).

So got the house ready for winter started the snow blower. Got the lawn over drained and winterized. And got the gazebo boarded up. Had my beer scout and Dixie stockman on me. And now watching the pats game. Hope everyone had a safe and productive weekend. And for the first time in a while got two days off from work by working to much overtime

Sounds like you had a busy day. My day was spent putting up Christmas lights. I was sure I tested them all. Got them all up, tried them out, and wouldn't you know it - one string wasn't working. Had to climb back up around the roof and put in the spare set we had. Then I spent the rest of the afternoon putting up LED rope lights on our deck. Looks great at night!

Tyler my weekend wasn't as productive as yours but it turned out to be a delicious one. Mr. Jackson lives a couple of miles from me and raises a few hogs each year. This old man always makes sausage and cured hams. I have been buying meat from him when available for years. He is very clean and processes meat in a very sterile environment so no need to worry about the pork. He called yesterday and said he had some meat ready to sell. I bought 10 lbs of sausage and a couple of hams. His sausage is absolutely the best I've ever had. This evening my daughter and her family came over and she cooked a wonderful southern mountain boy meal. Pinto beans with onions and relish, fried okra, mashed potatoes country ham, homemade biscuits and a peach cobbler for desert. Needless to say I'm not only full but happy.

All this AND Australians lol. Give me Earthquakes anytime.:D

Thank you guys for the kind words. I am lucky. I live way up North and not effected by all this, the Cantebury people on the other hand have had to endure- now get this as this is NOT an exaggeration - Thousands of Earthquakes.
I was just sittin in my Hotel room and I was rocking away quite gently in my chair- I wasn't rocking- my room was nice and gentle.
