Then...

Without a separate Windows login, you will need to create a "profile" for each user on Thunderbird. Make sure not to select a default so that each time the software starts you need to select a profile from the profile manager.

Thanks. That sounds like the closest thing to what I'm looking for.

Go to google.com, set up a google account, and then set of a g-mail account for your e-mail. G-mail works much like Outlook Express.

I can access my email through the (TimeWarner) webmail. I just don't do it that way much unless I'm traveling.

I use regular Outlook, I believe mine is 2014 edition that came with the who Office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc.) I have 5 different email accounts all run through it without any issues, personal, and work.

All cleaned up and ready to go.

Thanks, I'll look into that, too.

Microsoft replaced Outlook Express with Windows Live Mail some years ago. They have stopped supporting it as of 2017, but i think you can still download it from Microsoft if you are running Win 7.

I have read that the Microsoft email sites, Hotmail, Live Mail, MSN Mail and Outlook.com will no longer interface with Microsoft Live Mail. But if you have your email account elsewhere it may be OK.

I run Win 7 and my primary email account is through my ISP provider, Cox Cable. I have no issues using Windows Live Mail. I've tried playing with Thunderbird, the freeware from Mozilla. So far, I kind of don't like it. But then I'm used to running Microsoft Outlook at work as part of Microsoft Office. Windows Live Mail has a similar feel to Microsoft Outlook.

If you still have your old machine up and running, you can export your emails from Outlook Express.

You can also export your address book from Outlook Express.

I know some of you folks are into flashlights as well as knives. I find myself needing a decent small flashlight. My current go to flashlight is a monster of a maglight that has just gotten to big and heavy for my old hands. Any suggestions for a good flashlight around $25?

Thank you, Frank. Computers make life easier and so much more complicated.

I see that my new computer came with something called Outlook 2016, but I'm not sure if it's something I can use just for email. I'll experiment with different options this week. :)

Randy, streamlight 66118 is what I use at work. Pocket light. Love it. Small, aaa batteries last decent, led light. Tail push button and bright for its size.

I might have one laying around. Let me check before I make a promise thought

Randy, from what I've heard online and in person, if you're looking for small and under $25: the Olight i3S EOS Keychain Flashlight is hard to beat. Runs on a single AAA, 90 lumens, pocket friendly. I have a Maratac AAA that costs a little more, but seriously, the only time I don't have that light on me is when I sleep. The utility of a tiny flashlight is incredible.

I carry a Fenix E-15 which uses a single CR-123 battery. I used to pocket carry it clipped to a small Leatherman Squirt but I leave the pair in my laptop bag now.

Randy,
I would add the Fenix E05 (AAA battery) and the Fenix E12 (AA battery) to the list of possibles.
The Olight suggested above is very nice as well (especially if you like the tail switch).
No clue on the Streamlight.

Fausto

I carry a Streamlight Stylus Pro, possibly the same as 66118 above. For ease of carry and general use, it does most everything I need.

The good thing about the Mag lite I have now is I could beat an attacker down with it then stab him with my Barlow if I needed to. Guess I'm not very tactical. :D

jeez randy which maglite is this, the one with 5 D cells? you can use that thing as a club :D

Hah! I thought he wanted one that he could carry in his pocket!

Yeah those old maglite d cells could be beasts if you kept adding tubes and cells.

One of the guys I used to work with put me onto cheap LED mini torch with AA batteries but he was getting higher powered batteries from ebay- it dissappered in the pocket but lit up like a Spielberg film set.

Randy, I'm sorry but I can't find the stream light I had. Lemme get back to work and see what I have stashed.
