"Carl's Lounge" (Off-Topic Discussion, Traditional Knife "Tales & Vignettes")

You know when you go into a room to fetch something and when you get there you can't remember what you went in there for?
Apparently or so I've been told -if you go back out and then re enter the room it will kind of reset your brain and you will remember straight away.

You know you are getting older when they speak of a "procedure", and you come home with one less body part. After the "procedure", it now feels like a mule kicked me in the gut. Worst part was that my Condor Kephart arrived for pickup at the local wallyworld yesterday, and I couldn't pick it up. Later today I'll fetch it and bring it home.

I went back out of the room, but then couldn't remember which room I'd come out of! If my memory gets any worse, I'm going to start wearing a luggage-label with my name and address! :D

Ouch! Hope you heal fast Leghog

Sorry about the procedure, leghog.
Remember the guy in The Hunting of the Snark, by Lewis Carroll, who carefully wrote his name on all his luggage and then forgot to bring his luggage aboard?
So he didn't know his own name, and "he would answer to 'Hi', or to any loud cry, such as 'Ho, there', or 'Fritter my wig'."... "His intimate friends called him 'Candle-ends', and his enemies 'Toasted cheese'".

Too much coffee on an empty stomach. I could go on.

Naaah, they don't make that stuff anymore, come on! ;) :D

I just had to Google it, and yes, Geritol is still around. It's got niacin, vitamin B6, B1, B2, 18mg iron, and 12% alcohol. :D I want some now!

My brother in law got me a bottle of Geritol for my 30th birthday. We still laugh about it 30 plus years later! Lord I fell old!
Alcohol! I might have to get me some. I like the idea that it's for "medicinal purposes".;)

im probably way too young for it, but geritol? does it have o shall we say similar properties to mineral oil? as Lyle has mentioned in a previous thread :D

This whole thread is hilarious. 🤙🤙 I remember all this stuff too when I am lucid at least.

My parents knew a sweet old tea-totalitarian lady way back before my time, who just praised Geritol to the skies. In those kindly days, nobody had the heart to tell her what she was drinking.

I'm surprised they haven't healthened it up by losing the alcohol by this time. Bravo.

I also Googled Geritol when Bob asked the question, and the Wikipedia entry was very interesting to me! Among the more interesting parts I read were the facts that Geritol was introduced a year before I was born (1950), that Geritol was under frequent (constant??) investigation from 1959 onward by the Federal Trade Commission for Geritol's advertising claims, and that Geritol was one of the sponsors of the original Star Trek TV series. My doctor has me taking an iron tablet every day; I wonder if she'd let me switch to a daily swig of Geritol??

I must have already put a label with my name in a lot of my pants but not my address for some reason that escapes me at the moment.. It does however bring me to ask why all of you call me Randy my name is Levi Strauss.
