"Carl's Lounge" (Off-Topic Discussion, Traditional Knife "Tales & Vignettes")

My dog Finlay was unhappy this afternoon. We had been for a long walk on the moor. My son Rory had been for a long play in the garden.

Rory fell asleep in the kitchen on Finlay's sofa!

Finlay was unimpressed.

I hope Randy is doing ok.

I also hope, Randy is well!

Paul, your son has grown that much and fast. I remember clearly when he still was a baby. Great little boy!

Max has turned three on January and were at the swimming hall with him today. He was so tired he almost fell asleep during dinner.

Aaah those were the days.
Swimming lessons with my sons when they were wee.
Today I picked them up from high school and secretly planned to go get salty at our favourite swimming spot Wollongong boat ramp.I had the cozzys and towels in the car.It was sunny and warm and the sea is still warm. However.
They were both suffering mondayitis and combined with a severe dose of teenager disease did not wish to enter clear revitalising waves. Preferring to mope sullenly around the rocks on the high tide line. I managed to wrassle the youngest in and dump him under but the wily Ryan ran off and hid in the car. I love swimming.

It sure is Al. We took the boat to St. Michaels MD for the weekend. Charming little town. Not exactly a three hour tour but:)
Alan, my wife and I have passed through St. Michael's twice, although not for many years now. Brought back some good memories of eating at the Crab Claw. Great food and a fun time what with your food poured into the table! Just looked it up: still there but with mixed reviews. (It always amazes me with these online sites where the ratings swing from awful to excellent and back.o_O)

Tom: Yeah, I know what you mean! But, folks around here are very picky about their crabs (no pun intended). Have not had crabs at the Crab Claw, but there are a few really good restaurants in St. Michaels. We have a great crab house called The Point not far from our house on the river in Arnold, MD. So, we pick crabs there.

There are a few really nice little towns on the Chesapeake like St. Michaels. We take our boat, rent a slip at a local marina and stay for a few days several times a year. Havre De Grace, MD. Chestertown, Chesapeake City, Kent Island. All nice to visit and good food!

Glad I could bring back some good memories:)

Hey guys, got through to Randy, he's still in the hospital and not feeling much better. He does miss the porch, and hopes to be back soon. Well keep his seat warm for now, until he gets back!

You are lucky indeed Alan. We lived in Seattle for many years, so I fully appreciate the sentiments regarding your seafood.:D:thumbsup:

Thanks for letting us know Jack. Hopefully things improve. We're all pulling for you Randy!

I thank my lucky stars every day my friend! I was in Seattle last fall. Loved it! Also, visited Vancouver, Victoria and Portland/Willamette Valley. Great food, great wine. Great trip!.

Thank you sir!

Thanks. We'll raise some smoke.

I don't know why hospitals have to be so miserable about the internet. What exactly are they afraid Randy is going to do to them by being able to look at knives?
Get out of there soon, Randy.

Good question. Maybe they're more worried about the doctors and nurses and hospital administrators going off? :D

Get well soon, Randy!

Get well soon Randy. You know I'm praying for you buddy.

I had the same issues every time I was hospitalized. I just turned off the wifi and hoped for a decent signal. There are signs when entering the hospital sayin "No weapons allowed". Now this last stay, none of my family members brought me a knife, but they often do. None of the nurses or Dr.'s have seemed to be bothered. Perhaps because they were always small traditional pocket knives. During this last stay, my buddy came to visit and like me, I know he often carries a handgun. I asked him if he was carrying. Yep, sure enough. Like he said, what can they legally do if you're licensed. I understand government buildings and such, but I'm not sure about places like hospitals. I've tried to read up on it, but never found anything that addresses the issue specifically. I understand employees of the hospital being restricted because of some of the patients they deal with. I wonder if anyone here knows the real answer especially regarding knives and or websites regarding knives.

Thank you for the news. Next time tell him we're missing him!
